We know our first thought after watching this Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom trailer should be, "Wow, look at all the pretty colors," or "Hey, this looks like it's going to scratch our Ico and Beyond Good & Evil itches pretty definitively." However, our minds are only addled with raw, unchecked jealousy.
How come we don't have a giant, lovable, moss-covered golem companion? We wouldn't make him fight monsters or lift gates for us. We'd only ask that he let us pet his grassy head, and occasionally ride on his back, and go on the most magical adventures together.
Curse you, Namco Bandai! You knew our weakness for giant, adorable companions, and you exploited that weakness without remorse.

The idiotic voice of that think drives me nuts. The closest thing I can compare it to is Barney. He has that same 'I'm an idiot and laugh like a fool' thing going on.
Unfortunately, the rest of the game looks like fun and I'll probably have to just deal with the voice. Ugh.

It's too bad the voice acting is so meh. Overall the game looks quite good though. I'll certainly give it a shot.

You can always mute the game, doods.
I think the voice fits fine. It gives off the impression that he is a lovable oaf/overgrown child.

It looks like they fixed his awkward floating jump animation. Nice job, NamcoBandai!
I like the way it's coming along so I'll keep an eye on it.

This looks like tons of fun! I just wish we didn't have to see the dudes nipples the whole game.

Looks kinda good. The coop-like segments look like they might introduce some interesting stuff.

Though I've never played a game quit like this somehow it gives me nostalgia. It certainly reminds me a bit of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO and also have sort of a Zelda feel to it. All things I like. The puzzles look like they will be fun and challenging and while the game play looks fresh it also looks like it will be straight forward.

I'm hoping that you can turn subtitle on and the voices off.

*Holy fiznuck is that some shitty voice-acting
*Want to play, PLEEAAAASE let there be Japanese audio

You're making the assumption that all japanese audio is good... American VA's can been just fine, for example the MGS franchise. The Golem's VA is the only one I find irritating so far, but I've got the feeling that the game will more than make up for a little bad VAing. Oh and ignore my comment about the awful graphics, that was meant for something else.

Is that the rockbiter? And "the darkness"? What next, a flying dog-headed dragon?

Man that voice acting is bad! I couldn't even finish the video listening to them talk.

Ugh... suddenly my marginal interest turned into semi-apathy for this game. The voice acting, the animation in the video, the cheesyness, and the unlikely -to-impress story all make me think this game will only annoy me if I play it.
I kind of like the ideas behind it, though, so I still consider it a rental at the very least, just not something I'll be watching the release date for.

Haha, he reminds me of the Metalocalypse where they resurrect the lake troll and they all talk about how they wish they had a cool troll pal in high school.

God damn everyone's picking on the voice acting, you guys must be used to phone dating services and otherwise all the time XD It sounded fine to me, typical big dumbo golem sound, but then again I might be just deaf.

The VA work isnt bad. The Golem might not be to your taste in what you'd want him to sound like, but it's a very appropiate voice compared to how he looks and acts.
They put some emotion in their too. It's not like they read their lines with the wrong emotions, or inflected in places where they shouldn't have.
I would say it has OK voice acting. It's not the kind that makes me way "MAN, these voices hit the exact chords I wanted!" but it's not Baiten Kaitos or Arc Rise Fantasia levels of "janitors in need of vacation time stuffed into a room" embarassing either.
As far as the jump animations... which one? The Golem dropped and landed very convincingly, the human man was normally tossed by the majin down from his jump... the overall animation looks to have a touch of care to it, like when the golem lifted that gate, he didn't do it in a robotic "arms both reach the top, and then lower" style, he actually shifted his weight a bit from one arm to the other, and regained his footing. The animation as a whole seems to have a good amount of anticipation and follow-through, which are the major things that "bad" animation usually lacks.
In the end, this looks like a very plesant diversion from all the boring, samey stuff that gets retail release now-a-days. Color, personality, most likey little to no bad language, and not a "badass" style character in sight! I have a feeling that I'll start to pay more and more attention to this game, the closer it gets to release...
