Two weeks ago, we published reports from a Target employee who claimed an MLB 10-branded 250GB PS3 Slim bundle had appeared on their store's list of new releases. Recently, another piece of evidence surfaced which adds further credibility to the story: Target's online store recently added the MLB 10 bundle to its virtual shelves.
The online listing is scant on details -- it only mentions that the bundle comes with the console and a copy of the game. The tipster from two weeks ago reported a release date of June 13, and a price of $349.99 for the package. Once again, we've contacted Sony to try and get official confirmation of these details.
[Thanks, Shiloh]

Interesting. I'd go for it if I didn't have a PS3 and wanted that particular sports game.

What is the point of this bundle? Is saving $10 off of The show really going to make people buy PS3s? They should keep the $300 price point and bundle it with a game imo. My 2 cents...

I think it's time I buy a PS3 now, although I'll be needing another HDTV now.

For what it's worth, my local Target accidentally put this on the floor early, and then wouldn't sell it to me. The price was $349, as reported, and the register told them that the item couldn't be sold until June 13. So, date confirmed as far as I'm concerned.

If you really want a PS3 right now, I'd say jump on this. They are kind of hard to find due to Sony holding shipments until they fulfill a certain amount of completely built consoles with these new memory bundles. Something of that sort. I just know there's a shortage with Target and these cheap bundles. I really wanted MLB 10 anyway, so it's a great deal to me. I went to a few Target stores where these bundles where supposed to be available in plentiful amounts, but they were all gone. They didn't even have any of the stand-alone consoles at either store. You can check periodically on Target.com for the bundle. Most of the time it will show "out of stock," but I checked periodically for a few days and was able to add it to my shopping cart. When I got to the final purchase submission, I was told it was out of stock three times. I waited another day and after a few tries, I was able to purchase the bundle. I finally got an e-mail back confirming purchase and the product is shipping today. Oh, and try the coupon code TCJ09UAB. This will knock $35 off the price. My total came to $348 with taxes and shipping so it's like buying the bundle in-store without tax. Great deal.
