Test Drive Unlimited 2 drives off the lot Sept. 21

Those awaiting the arrival of Test Drive Unlimited 2 shouldn't make any travel plans for the second week of September, because Atari's already booked you for a trip to Ibiza. The scenic racing game is due to be released on September 21, 2010 in North America, and pre-order campaigns will roll out beginning this week (May 28). As has become the norm, various retailers will feature unique bonuses in exchange for your solemn vow to purchase the game from them. Here's a quick rundown of what's being offered to pre-purchasers:

Amazon pre-order bonus: Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black special edition, in-game avatar apparel and Amazon video games store credit (amount TBA)
Atari.com: custom Nissan 370Z
Best Buy: Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black special edition
GameStop: TDU2: Casino Online bonus game (including poker, roulette and slots; playable with friends online) and two exclusive unlockable cars
Walmart: Inuit finish Audi Q7 V12 TDI Quattro, in-game avatar apparel and Walmart.com gift card (amount TBA).

We recently saw Test Drive Unlimited 2 in action and will have hands-on impressions of the game from E3.

Hmmm. Amazon or Gamestop. The free casino game is enticing, but so is money.

You know you aren't going to play the casino game if you get it. You've played enough blackjack and poker in Red Dead Redemption... well I have.

I think it's a bad time to announce a release date for a racing game since 3 of them came out in the past week. I realize it's a few months out and it's not an arcade racer, but still. Seems like bad timing. I'm sure it won't hurt sales though. Reach on the other hand, might.

"You know, I'd buy this racing game that just came out, but three completely unrelated style of racing games came out four months ago and it's just far too much!"

I'll have to go with Amazon by default. The GameStop one sounds like it'll get boring quickly, and the cars aren't mentioned. I don't shop at Walmart and out of the rest Amazon sounds the most interesting with the credit.

Probably existing cars that are skinned with Gamestop logos anyway.

i have this game in mind more then any other games coming out that month ( unless GT5 is coming out that month... which i highly doubt )

yo. PlayStation 1 wants to talk to you. They want their physics back.

cars bounding off other cars and going flying. This game looks to be garbage, just like the first one.

i'm planning on getting this game but i'm not going to pre-order. i'm just going to walk into target on launch day and pick it up. most of the cars will be available to buy on the online market and will more than likely make their way into a DLC pack later on anyways.

I enjoyed the first one a lot. Nice to see they kept it at $50. I'll be pre-ordering at amazon to get the $10 video game credit and $5 in mp3s.

Placing my order with Amazon. The Best Buy and Amazon cars are very similar, and both look really sharp, as does the 370z, but I love the other extras from Amazon. One thing I kinda wish this game had is cars that wrecked, but then again, that might not be such a good thing.
