The same as in the original, considering they use Michael McConnohie, the same voice actor from Crackdown, to play the part of the director of the Agency.

thats not a draw distance thing, thats haze. A city skyline never looks as crystal clear as the one in crackdown 2. Ever.

So it's essentially the same location with all of the same, albeit much dilapidated architecture? I'm now looking forward to Crackdown 2 even less. I can't imagine having fun in the same place again, I have a hard enough time replaying open world games I already own because the world gets so repetitive and boring.

@Mr Esc

LOL... your post is a bit schizophrenic:

"The orbs ruined the game for me (I missed only 7 of them) and the fact the DLC was content that was already inside the disc killed it for me."

The orbs "ruined" the game for you, yet you collected nearly all of them? Then the DLC "killed" the game? But then you go on to say these are petty complaints and it was actually a good game? So did you like it or not, it's a bit hard to tell.

@ Mr. ESC

"The biggest issue was the lack of a proper boss fight, for a game that lets you be almost like Superman I believe a boss fight with a pimped/soviet/anime-ish giant robot was mandatory."

Do you realize in the most recent Superman game the main Boss Fight is against a Tornado...?

I don't mind the bleak colors and grey tones so much as the fact that it's the same city and the fact that its ZOMBIES!!! I don't know how many zombie games there are now and it just seems like a cheap excuse to make a sequal.

"Hey here's crackdown 2 where the city's been over run with th undead!"

Really? Would've been better and easier to just say, "Hey, you guys did a great job cleaning up the city and killing the gangsters that we're gonna send you to (insert random city) and have you clean that up!"

Reading is quite important, bud. You'd hate to have facts ruin your hidden agenda, though, right? *rolls eyes*

Anyways, this looks great. Love the shiny suit! Can't wait for July!

I agree. A bit discouraged seeing the "more realistic" take on Pacific City. The first game worked for me because it was so light, fun, pick up and play action game. Like the games of yesteryear.

The screenshots seem a bit misleading, from what I've seen the game is no more realistic or less light/fun than Crackdown 1.

Well the comparisons look like they were taken at different times in the virtual day. If you'll look at joystiq's hands-on, you'll begin to see a little more of the missing colour that comes in when it's not night:

wow I was considering crackdown 2... but this is just sad. They pretty much took the map from crackdown and re-textured it? Imagine if GTA IV would have just been the GTA III map but with more polys... I now see why same-gen sequels of open world games is a REALLY bad idea, but then again look at just cause 2... THATS how to do a same gen sequel.

Is it just me... or does Crackdown 2 have horrible textures compared to the original from 3 years ago? Check out the rocks the guy is standing on (sorry, never played Crackdown before, don't know his name).

I noticed that as well. It looks like they just saved over the old textures and refreshed in the game engine.

I'll probably still get this game though, just for the 4 player co-op.

They could have at least added some new polygons to the world. The rock that the dudes standing on is literally the exact same!

Throwing edges around could make a huge difference to the quality of the world.

Am I the only one who was really looking forward to Crackdown 2, but became extremely disappointed upon learning the entire environment is pretty much a reskin? The most fun I had in Crackdown was exploring and orb hunting, I cant see that being nearly as fun the second time around in the same environment.

I have to disagree, the colours in crackdown 2 seem much more contrasting where as in Crackdown 1 it all just kind of blends together.

The source article did a great job at comparing Crackdown 1 to Crackdown 2 night time. Haters gonna hate.

Now everyone who sees the pic will think Crackdown 2 is super gray cause the screens were taken at night.
