The upcoming July issue of Nintendo Power reveals a new de Blob game coming to the DS and Wii, called de Blob: The Underground. Wii players can expect two-player support in The Underground, as well as "new moves, new foes" and "new 2D platforming segments." Blue Tongue will once again handle development on the Wii version, while Australian studio Halfbrick works on the DS debut.
de Blob: The Underground is currently slated to launch in Spring 2011 -- but before that, you'll see much more at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

So does this mean De Blob is going to compete with Eric Sparrow?

De blob was great, I hope the soundtrack remains great too.

You can find it for $10 -$20 new pretty easily nowadays. I bought my copy about a year ago, but it hasn't left it's cozy cellophane seal yet. I plan on changing that before the summer ends.

Give me the ability to save in the middle of a level and I'll pick it up.

I loved and hated de Blob.
I love the sound track and general feel of the game.
I thought levels were often too long and big (which says strange to say it now).
Jumping with the Wii Remote was a horrible idea. That should have been mapped to a button and then the game would have been amazing awesomeness instead of occasionally amazing as it is now.
The original is still worth owning if you can get it for around $10, it has a distinct feel to it and is something that is different than any other Wii game out there in a good way.

I totally agree. All my major gripes with the game were due to using the Wii remote to perform the critical movement for de Blob. Jump is everything in that game and to have it work only some of the time (and it seemed like never when you needed it to) was beyond frustrating. I hope they fix it for this game.

The blob? If it was purple it would look like the main character from Trippin' the Rift.

This is wonderful news. I never played deBlob on the iPod Touch but I did play it on the iPod Touch and I really enjoyed the gameplay.
I hope that they'll cancel and hold back and it on the new completely new Nintendo 3DS instead of the current DS.

Sorry KaBob799. I did not notice that typo. I have not played DeBlob on the Nintendo Wii but only on the iPod Touch. It was really good and I think that both the Nintendo DS and iPod Touch get the best games.

I always thought it looked cool, don't own a Wii though. I'll definitely try it on DS.

Hopefully the controls aren't as sensitive as the first one.

Map the jump to a button. That's all you have to do. You don't have to change anything else. Just please, please, PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, map the jump to a button and not to !@#$ing waggle.
Although, for extra credit, you could send whoever made the dumbass decision to map the jump to waggle in the first one out to go play in traffic.
