What are the odds this will come close to Pokemon Stadium 1 or 2?

Come close? One is a game designed to replicate the original games and Pokemon battles in a stadium setting. The other is a bunch of minigames using Pokemon as dressing. In other words, not close.

It's like Pokemon Snap, minus the "Snap".

Reading the readline and the first paragraph had my hopes up for a Snap sequel, or revitalization at the least.

You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly, Joystiq!

Seriously Nintendo, call up Dana White, and get some UFC: Pokemon Edition. Muay Thai Bulbasaur? I'd be on that like Kobiyashi.

I played this back in December for my site and it is a good fun game. It's a bit short and a bit easy, and it could have done with multiplayer on the mini-games, but I enjoyed every bit of it. From the massive 3D battles of Pikachu VS many Pokémon like Charizard, Feraligatr, Treecko etc. to the races against Pokémon like Dragonite and finally getting the target scores on each of the 14 mini games for all 16 of the Pokémon you can play as in it.

Yes, it's aimed more for the younger crowd and yes, it isn't a main series Pokémon game (one of those will not come for the Wii or any future home console, the developers have said so), but it didn't stop it being a fun game/

I played it yesterday and it's completely different. Well not completely, it's just rated M now and has blood. Lots and lots of blood.

Plus that scene in the abandoned warehouse, I thought it was pretty distasteful.

I loved those mini-games. My favorite was either the Lickitung Sushi one or the Delibird's Delivery one. They were all loads of fun with some friends though.
