Our poor, transatlantic pals living in the UK have been wracked with a pretty significant retail shortage of Rockstar's latest open-world opus, Red Dead Redemption. Fortunately, Rockstar Games UK boss Neil Stephen (the man so nice, they named him twice) has told VG247 that Take-Two has been working with UK retail outlets to remedy the supply issues, stating, "we believe the situation should be resolved by this weekend, so we'd like to thank everyone involved for their part in this."
We're guessing Rockstar's solution to the shortages was to locate the rumored sunken cargo ship which dragged a few crates of the game to the bottom of the briny deep. If that's the case, we hope UK gamers enjoy finally getting their hands on copies of the game, and all of the barnacles therein.

Just started playing. For whatever reason, Rockstar decided to put a massive gorge between my starting home and the major city I travel to everyday. I think I've caused 4 dozen horses (not even kidding) to try and jump of the ridge only resulting in both their and my death. I finally bought property in the major city because I lost all my horse friends. As well, I've killed about 100 deputies/sheriffs in the course of a 4 hour playthrough. I cannot even kill a bunny without being swarmed by bounty hunters. Still, amazing game.

Fingers crossed that there will be a future title update which puts the 'rumored sunken cargo ship' in the game as an Easter Egg for some self referential humour =)

It's apparrently Asda and Tesco that are having problems. Which is annoying because Asda is right outside my place. I'm getting the game on Friday but i bet i have to treck all the way into town.

Is RDR being kept behind the counter at your local retailer too? Both Target and Walmart have it locked up, and Best Buy keeps theirs behind the counter in customer service. Is this because it's a rockstar game, or what?

They'd better :(
I've been waiting for Gamestation to get this damn game in now for a week. I'm going to pop into town tomorrow just to check. They did say they should hopefully have a delivery in then.
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm using store credit to purchase the majority of the game I would have used amazon or play.com. My local Tesco are sold out also and my local Asda isn't even stocking the game at all.

For those of you worried about the PS3 port versus the 360 version, don't be. The differences have been blown WAY out of proportion. You get more content with the PS3 limited edition than the 360 version. The framerate issue has also been overblown. I have both systems, and I went with the PS3 version for the extra content. The game is SICK no matter what system you are playing it on.
