Dark Void $10 through Games for Windows Live this weekend

Dark Void may have met with a cool reaction critically, but it's been temporarily granted a new feature that might improve people's impressions: costing ten dollars.

Through June 1, the PC version of Airtight Games' jetpack-packed action game is available for just $9.99 on Games for Windows Live. A price like that skirts the boundaries between "rental" and "purchase" -- it's cheap enough that you can basically get it just to screw around with the jetpack and not feel bad. It's almost cheap enough that you can get it solely for the purpose of "completing your Dark Void collection" should you already have Dark Void Zero.

not buying with SecuROM, that's what broke the deal for me, I don't think I would download this game for free if it had SecuROM.

I'm vary tempted right now. When paying with points, it's 800 MS Points, which is the same price as an XBLA game. Should I get this or not?

Get It. Its really not that bad a game. It has a few really cool moments.

I was all over the 10 dollar red faction guerrella sale, but this one, no.

I missed a $10 RFG sale?! I beat the game on PS3, but it was a borrowed copy, and I've been looking for a good excuse to give THQ my monies. They deserve it for that game.

I agree, its much worse.

But it's not...The controls were great, the level design was fantastic.
The only issues with it were the mediocre story and ugly art style. That and the console versions suffered from framerate issues. But that's consoles for you.

Seriously? I haven't played it, but I find it hard to believe that this game isn't worth $10. Hell, I'll play almost anything for $10.

It's still ten bucks you could drop on some food or a bit of beer. I don't know what things cost as I'm not american, but the principle still applies. Just because something is seriously cheap doesn't mean it's worth buying.

For 10 bucks, I'm already having more fun than Lost Planet, which I got for 5.

Well, no one told ME that because I found Lost Planet to be dull, only pushing forward so that I could finish it and uninstall it.

Grabbed it for my 360 for $4.90 new off Amazon earlier this week.

It needs to be free.

Not nearly as bad as people say. It's more of a 5 or 6 out of 10 game, definitely worth 10 bucks.

I dunno, I liked Bionic Commando, and everyone else hated that game. But I guess the demo of Dark Void didn't sell me on the full game, so I won't buy it for any sale.

It's a bit of fun, I wasn't going to grab it full-price and I had the demo sitting on my PS3 for ages before I played it, but it's pretty good. I really don't understand the hate for this game, it's not nearly as bad as Iron Man 2.
