Activision's Little League World Series takes a swing on Xbox 360 and PS3

Now sports fans will get to see Activision's weird-looking Little League World Series characters in high definition! The last two iterations of the kid-friendly baseball franchise have been exclusive to Wii and DS, but Activision has announced Little League World Series Baseball 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"We felt it was time to finally bring the popular Little League series to gamers playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation(R)3," Activision Publishing's David Oxford said. "Little League(R) World Series Baseball 2010 is visually stunning and packed with tons of new content, while remaining an accessible pick-up-and-play game for the whole family."

Apparently, Activision also felt it was time to stop bringing the popular franchise to Wii and DS, as there is no mention at all of any version of the game other than the Xbox 360 and PS3. It'll be out on those two consoles in July.

Wow first time i've stopped reading a Joystiq article on the first word of the heading.

Why would people play this, when they got.. better alternatives on the 360/PS3? Was better as a Wii game. =/

all i can think of is that this may be preparation for when natal/move are released. they are probably thinking that if they bring a butt load of casual/kid-friendly titles to the 360/PS3 before natal/move are released then everyone will probably accept these kind of game's and purchase them without any complaints. it seems to me that 3rd party companies such as Activision and Ubisoft wish to attract (or rather milk) the casual audience that exists on the 360/PS3 (such as kid's and the like).

BUT......but....THEY'RE SO KYOOOOT D:

Actually, there are no better alternatives on 360/PS3. This is the only manga-styled baseball game on those platforms.

Take me for instance. I couldn't care less about baseball, but I'd give this one a try, since the characters look fun and colorful.

Yeah cause you know every kid who likes baseball dream's is to play little league.

I know Activision isn't Konami, but dammit, when is someone going to pick up PowerPros again!?

They should totally remake this baseball game. It would be so awesome to see how they incorporate those cool looking baseball bats.
