Speaking of that, I was listening to the podcast and man, do they not care about KZ3!

I mean, the amount of not caring went on forever! I now know how much they do not care for KZ3!

Your post doesn't seem to be a response to any of the above posts and I can only assume you put it there at the top to gather attention.

Pain, however, lives up to its name with a ¥300 ($3.28) charge to add the new 3D mode.

Wow, just wow.. now you (they) gotta pay for an update that SHOULD BE FREE?! Wow.

the update is free
PAIN is only adding 3D modes, its basically an add-on, not an update

Come on, can't the guys behind Pain throw us a bone and just release this as a free title update? They've already got a million different items for sell, surely one teeny tiny update isn't going to break the bank.

i agree.

in fact, i think super stardust hd and wipeout hd both could be great in 3d. i was never interested in pain, and 3d isnt gonna make any difference there.

As a huge Wipeout fan I'll agree that it could be awesome in 3D

that said I'm not going to go out and spend a few grand for a new TV to experience it.

Agreed, should be pretty awesome. Shame they had to down WipEout to 720p though - I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the resolution for 3D goodness - it's just too pretty (plus I'm a bit of a resolution whore) :(

just a question but will the 3d features work on a normal lcd tv?
imo 3d is stupid and it hurts your eyes like hell (10 mins into shrek 4 3d and my eyes felt like bleeding)

PAIN will always live up to it's name....if someone has bought ALL of the DLC for it, it has cost them as much if not more than the cost of a Full price disc based game.....and THAT is a pain in the wallet unless you have sunk hundreds of hours into to that game and are one of the fee people to have gotten more than 50% of the trophies in it

really? I have friends who come over every week to play PAIN and despite playing it for the past few years, we still enjoy it. Fortress mode is fantastic with 4 player local and we've had nothing but fun with it. Single player though bites - I can last about 20 minutes and then have to jump into something else.

The multiplayer is great though if you play with the right people I guess...

i own all the content and have 92% of the trophies, including the very hard gold trophy
i found the game very fun, and have put alot of hours into the game (while playing other games too)
it may have cost me more then a normal disc based game, but to be honest ive played PAIN more then i do some disc games
here in europe its released on disc

i love the game, but also see how others dont like it, no game is perfect, and each to there own
but i continue to surrport the company who make the game, and they are working on a new project, but its still unannounced

DLC is entirely optional.

I personally just have the base game but mean to download other stuff.

This is a good game to play drunk with friends. Much like Trials HD is or Marble Blast. Joe Danger is gonna be that way too.

Na man i got off of it a while ago. Sure it's fun to try at a party but soon you're depenant on it. It starts ruining your job, relationships and you find yourself selling your body just to get another hit.

It's bad shit man. Stay away from it.

you are not the only one but then again, lots of people didn't think that they would need or use 1080p either.. 1080p was only for "rich" people and now look at it.. it's everywhere and relatively inexpensive.. 3D is just a stepping stone and while it may not be for everyone, I'm definitely curious to give it a try and see how it's implemented (hopefully well)

"I agree. I mean, how many 3D movie theaters are there? None, no one wants to watch a movie in 3D, so as soon as they open they immediately shut down do to not getting any business."

Do you mean a movie theater where all the movies are in 3D? I think that would fail because there aren't that many 3D movies not because people don't want to see a movie in 3D.

No you're not.

I hate 3d movies, but when they can do it without giving me a headache or making me wear bulky glasses over my glasses, I'll probably be more into it.

This is the 3rd time they've tried to push 3d to the consumer market, hopefully the 3rd time failing will be a charm

Didn't Sony announce recently that they pushed the 3D capabilities update for the PS3 out indefinitely? What exactly is the good of a 3D game if the system isn't being updated to actually output 3D?

That was regarding 3D films. 3D games are all set, it seems.

Same output, different input. With 3d games it has to be rendered in the 3D. With 3D movies the player (PS3) needs to be able to decode the 3D codec.

If 3D is going to make it, it's going to be because of video games. Porn helped blu-ray make it, but I don't see it doing much for 3D. Video games will begin to adopt 3D more and more and you'll see more and more people with 3D capable set ups.

Other than that I think both WipeOut and Super Stardust will be amazing in 3D. Only 2 PSN games I own too. They are both already visually stunning and I can only see this adding to it.

I was able to play Wipeout 3D coupled with Sony's 3d tech this past week. It was rather impressive, definitely giving a real 3d feel to the game, along with giving considerable depth to the race track. I did feel rather motion sick up close though so watch how close you get to the screen. But further away it was fine.

I cannot wait for 3D to die a horrible, miserable death like it has in the past. Maybe then the TV manufacturers will get a goddamn clue and work on 4k displays like logic would dictate they should have instead of 3D. All I can say is those that own them already..have fun withstanding 30 mins of 3D gaming because at minute 31 you're gonna want to vomit in your shoe from the eye strain.

Is this 3D support only going to work on 3DTVs? If yes, whos going to buy it apart from rich, who can spend money like no mans problem. 3DTVs can cost up to $5,000 (£3,500) for a 42" only, and those HI-TECH glasses cost up to $100 (£75) each. Thats too much.
