I just realized it has been out a little longer overseas (read bottom of article) Still overall it is doing pretty good especially considering it went against an established animated movie franchise

i work as an usher for the local movie theater, so my time with prince of persia this past weekend has been frequent. and boy, does that move look like shit. if it's ultimately a success (lord knows those numbers are promising), i'm afraid of how it'll influence future video game adaptations...uncharted especially. :/

Wow, that's extremely disappointing for what they were expecting would be a huge franchise opener.

It's definitely no PIrates.

Me and my friend's actually left the theatre after the first hour and a half.
It's one of those films that's just nothing. It's not interesting enough to keep your attention but not bad enough to laugh at.

Gugh... I want my time and money back,

it only had two things from the game. the dagger and the hourglass. otherwise dialogue was mediocre. the relationship seemed forced. and no "time is like ocean" speech which is replaced by the cliche destiny mantra. and the ending was just awful and there was no kakalukiem kinda ending.

I enjoyed it, although it was a little overblown, and I thought the lead (Jake Gyllenhaal) was totally miscast but servicable. That being said, it's worth seeing. For being a movie based on a game, it's one of the better made ones, but I'm not sure if that's saying much. Most movies based on games, well, suck.

To be honest, having the Disney name on the flim and a PG-13 rating was the kiss of death.

Too many camera cutaways during the action scenes, no blood, and dumbed-down dialogue. Very awkward.

It looked like an R-rated movie script shoe-horned down into a PG-13 film.

Saw it and actually thought it was pretty good. Didn't have high expectations for this flick and it was my date that wanted to see it!

Have to admit that this was more enjoyable than Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Seriously....swinging like monkeys, aliens, surviving a nuclear blast in a fridge????? WTF?!

My friend wanted to go see it this past week, but I passed. I might check it later on DVD, but it really just doesn't look that interesting.
