So there's a trailer out for Earthworm Jim HD. Don't worry, it looks just fine. Gameloft was even kind enough to toss in some footage of the game's new co-op levels. Heck, we even get to see some entirely new single-player levels, replete with jet-packing grandmas and ... keyboard cat.
That's all well and good, but what is up with Jim's voice? Maybe it's just the difference between old, muffled 16-bit samples and the modern sound clarity we enjoy today, but something seems off. Like "someone just grabbed the janitor and told him to say 'groovy' into a microphone" off. Come on, Gameloft. Surely someone over there has Tommy Tallarico's number*.
*Or Dan Castellaneta's.

I remember this game well, but don't actually remember if it was good? I remember being impressed with the animation and graphics for the time, but was the game good?

The "groovy" at the end is clearly not the same from the original game. Hopefully that will be fixed when it is released. Either way, I will still buy this the day it comes out. I'm absolutely thrilled by all the HD remakes of the classic games from years past! Now if someone could start working on Panic on Funkatron....

Co-op? Really? C'mon guys, not every game these days has to have a multiplayer aspect to it. Looks good otherwise though. But I do wish Jim's voice was better.

just downloaded this for the dsi...got way too many xbla games i've downloaded and haven't played...at least i can play this on the go...and it really takes me back since it looks like the genesis version...(at least i think it does)...sure gonna miss the the gamerscore points though...

way to do things on the cheap gameloft. recycled sprites, different voice over? the original earthworm jim devs are rolling in their graves! I mean my god they didn't even bother to add new characters to the co op! would it have been that hard to add cycrow, peter puppy and the princess to the playable characters? what ever blow me gameloft you freaks always ruin EVERYTHING!
