Blade Kitten adds XBLA and PC releases; Atari to publish

Blade Kitten, Krome Studios' downloadable action-adventure game based on a webcomic, is expanding beyond its originally announced PSN release. The side-scroller will also be released this September on XBLA and PC.

The game now has a publisher, as well: Atari. The addition of a publishing partner may have something to do with its wider release. In the announcement, Atari president Jim Wilson relayed his excitement about delivering Blade Kitten to "an already rabid platforming fan base of gamers on XBLA and PSN." You'll have to stop platforming long enough to play it!

That.. that webcomic... That is not a quality product.

Just be grateful it was that comic. We all know how much B^Uckley wants to be Penny Arcade, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to release a CAD game himself...

I don't have a PS3, I just use my roommates, so I wasn't looking forward to missing out on this for a year or two until I get my own.

Looks like quite the enjoyable Action Platformer.

And more guys jumping to the support all the platforms wagon, the real way to go for companies if they want to get real money.... I just hope more companies join the revolution.

This game looks like it's moving at like 1/4 the speed it should be.

That's because they are screenshots Acosta. Not video.

We've seen video for this game already and the animations are really bad.

Also, the animations aren't that bad. The graphics and art style are a bit lacking, but the animations are fine.

wish I could look at the screenshots but there is an annoying TLC ad plastered over half of 'em which can't be turned off and I don't use an ad blocker at work. fail.

Any word on the Japanese release, Blade Kitten would appeal to the Japanese gamer a lot. Catgirl + moe=instant sellout in Japan.

She needs a anime also (well Halo Legends will cause many western game to anime adaptation sooner or later).

Not actual Japanese animation and won't appeal to Japanese sensibilities.

It doesn't matter if she's hot, it doesn't matter if they make a hentai dating sim with her, it's not japanese, so it'll fail. They're xenophobic like that.

Coming to XBL? Hooray! I don't have a PS3 so I was afraid I'd have to resort to gameplay vids and the whatnot. Now I can play it!

I'm always willing to try out a sidescroller...but the screens don't look as cool as I'd have thought for something called Blade Kitten. I was hoping for a proper kitten, kitted out with chainsaws, fighting mutant dogs or something. You know that'd be epic.

I'm interested in a demo,to see if I like it.
