So sad.

Well, maybe sad is not the right word for it. It's amazing what Blizzard has done to be able to gain such a ridiculously insane following of people, that would go to such lengths.

Especially considering every one of those $500 tickets on Ebay is going to sell.

What word am I looking for...

so... 500x5 - (150x5) = 1750...

not bad for 20minutes of work.

The second set of parentheses is unnecessary.

Actually, by order of operations, no parentheses are necessary in the equation at all.

Although (500-150)*5 is much more efficient.

Although he did correct himself, it is still kind of funny though that he failed to count correctly when criticizing your use of the parentheses.

The word is 'F*cked'.

$150 tickets? You've got to be kidding me. That is an outrageous amount of money to charge for things I could sit at home and watch on the internet THE SAME DAY.

I hope they all enjoy their $500 trailers and cosplay contests.

Yes, true. I'm not knocking the fans as much as the despicable practice of price-rape being conducted by Blizzard here. As if the millions upon millions of dollars in monthly payments aren't enough. I know it's all supply and demand, and they'll charge whatever their rabid fans are willing to pay; it just seems wrong to me. Cons just shouldn't cost $150 dollars. Ever. They're supposed to be about community and fun, and that kind of price of entry and sickening profit is upsetting, to me.

If i recall correctly, 150 is about the same price a 3 day pass to Comic Con would go for from the con themselves, so it's not exactly evil, evil price gouging, especially considering that Blizzcon is merely the size of Comic Con but supported and put on by a single company.

Blizzard to runs BlizzCon at a financial loss, they don't make money off of it (see the 2009 AGDC keynote). What they DO get is increased community goodwill and uninterrupted focus on their products alone(no need for E3). So no,

And this is a 2 day convention. $150 is CHEAP compared to the professional quality and swag you get for attending. How many high demand conventions or concerts have you actually been to? BlizzCon is actually VERY reasonable as long as you aren't working off an allowance or extremely tight budget, in which you're not paying much for entertainment anyway.

You seem to be missing the fact that ticket also gets you a goodie bag which more than makes up for the price. Last year's kind of sucked, but usually the stuff that comes in it equalled the price of the ticket (last couple of years when the tickets were $100 and $125.)

Items include a guaranteed spot in a future Blizzard beta, one time a coupon for $40 off an nVidia card, and an item exclusive to that convention.

23 Minutes is misleading. It took 23 minutes for Blizzard to process all their sales. In reality, the first line says "Ticket queue is immediately over 10,000". Those queued above 3850 or so were out of luck.

I was pretty lucky. I started out at about 2000 in the queue. waited about 15 minutes and was able to get a ticket.

$500 on eBay just proves that Blizzard has (yet again) failed to properly price their product. Didn't they learn a little bit from last year on the subject? A total sell-out, especially at that speed, is a very bad thing.

Depends on the soul.

i.e.

immoral deeds*good deeds/years alive*pi=est GSW (Gross Soul Worth)

Of course I'm doing this in America. If you're in a country that uses the metric system, it's quite different.

Is there a reason they don't make the tickets non-transferable? You can bet a sizable amount of the tickets sold will be on ebay, which this would put a stop to. That way the only people buying them are people that actually want to go.

You can change the name on the tickets up until the 20th, so people will just register them in another name, the name of the purchaser on eBay I suppose.

Technically, they are.

You need to use your Battle.net account to buy them, and then show the credit card at the door that was used to purchase them, So you are buying a ticket and HOPING the person will show up to claim the ticket.

What's the max amount of tickets one person can buy? With the ebay tickets about I have to wonder how many people have a legitimate interest in attending and how many are simply scalpers.

Just because there are a bunch of scalpers doesn't mean there aren't a lot of people who want to go, it just means the scalpers are better are getting the tickets
