October 5 is a good day to release Def Jam Rapstar

"I even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp, and it read 'click to open the gallery.'"Konami has announced release dates for Def Jam Rapstar, the Def Jam game that is actually about rapping and not about rappers beating one another unconscious. 4mm Games' karaoke title will be released on October 5 in North America, with each game/microphone bundle retailing for $69.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and $59.99 on Wii. The game will be out "the week of November 2, 2010" in Europe.

The company also announced that Primo and Just Blaze will provide background for the game's Freestyle Mode. For less creative types, seven more songs were added to the tracklist, including total classics "Just a Friend," "It Was a Good Day," and, in what is guaranteed to create awkward fun at parties, Salt-n-Pepa's "Push It." Push it real good past the break to see all the additions.

If um not mistaken ALL games that use mics must be capable of using mics from any other game that uses mics now....so unless they are wireless then I have no need for a mix with this

According to Gamestop pre-orders you can also purchase the game by itself for $60, or $50 on Wii.

Sing Star is the only game I know of that you MUST use their mics only. The game does not work with blutooth or Rockband mics

This might be the only time I would say this, but I kind of wish Activision was behind this. If you could have one guy on the turntable and one guy rapping that would be pretty sweet. Plus, I would actually give me an opportunity to use the accessory outside of DJ Hero. I definitely think there's an audience for this game though.

Well if its anything like the last two versions of karaoke revolution they will support it for 6 months and then stop putting out dlc .

If SingStar was supported by SCEA, aw hell; if they gave half a shit about that game, added more rap songs & fixed the rap score meter, they would have already owned this segment.

Basing it off of the screenshot of Ice Cube's "Today Was A Good Day", plus some of the listed songs on the tracklist, that Drake song stands out like a sore thumb since that it's not old-school like the rest there. Get rid of it please.

Yes, that track's good. I also like the salt'n'pepa track despite everything.

But, no disrespect to the game, I just don't really feel any urge to play rap karaoke. Probably just me.

I can't wait for inevitable youtube vids of nerdy kids trying to rap.

Will be a day 1 purchase for me but I really hope Konami include some Kano in the game, he may not be well known all over the world but he could be made available as a UK/European exclusive like Tinchy Shiteder and Timie Tempah were.
