Achmed, the undead samurai assassin....former servant of the
Pharoah-sensei...unearthed from the tombs in the Valley of Shoguns. With his bald-eagle familiar, Jake, he defends America from the indignities of its foes.

If the image is a clue as to the locales of the game then it looks like Egypt, Japan, and America. The sun is strangely stylized and what the hell would a bald eagle be doing in Egypt?

That eagle an Egyptian coat of arms. The Eagle of Saladin. It holds a scroll in Arabic stating "Arab Republic of Egypt".

So maybe they Googled "eagle" and 'shopped it in there.

Like Capcom did with Okami (only they were a bit late)

Same here. But at least this time he looks like he would actually fit in with the people of this time, rather than being a random hooded bandit in Italy that couldn't possibly be shady at all.

@greg_ryuk: I'm sure they will find some way to make sure his outfit is far snazzier than everyone else's, just as they've done for the last thousand years. And just like before, nobody will notice. Ironically, the only Assassin's Creed game that did incognito well was the iPhone game...

@finn: it's ironic in that i'd expect the opposite to be true: better
hardware could do every feature more realistically. I realize it's a
design choice though, so it was only joke irony. I look forward to seeing all the
new designer assassin wardrobes in Hashshashin and the City 3.

I also hope it's AC3, but I do think it's unlikely. Egypt isn't know for its large cities and such, at least not to my knowledge (I hope I'm wrong). And of course, no tightly packed cities means a major gameplay mechanic is gone.

...but climbing a pyramid would be cool.

Why would they do that when they can just an image of the CGI character holding a sword ona plain white background with the games Logo over his head, and above that, the logo of the game system it's for. Also, they need to fit the logos of Ubisoft and whatever physics engine they use. AWESOME

They can script whatever story they want, but if they are trying to stay close to what is historically believable--as they've done so far--I doubt we'll ever see anything in Japan. Europeans/Mediterraneans weren't in Japan until the 16th century. And if you want to talk about not blending in....try being Dutch in Japan back then.

Actually, Cameron Stewart was supposed to drawn an issue of "The Return of Bruce Wayne" but got pulled (most likely to do this series). His most recent work was "Batman and Robin" # 7-9.

I wish he could have done the "The Return of Bruce Wayne" issue he was scheduled for. That said, enjoy this Assassin's Creed fans his work is great!

Agreed. Batman and Robin has been one of the best comics month in and month out. I was just hoping for Stewart because he is a frequent Morrison collaborator and translates his scripts better than most.

Also the sun is the sun. A round circle is no indication of Japanese. The armor is far from what even early Japanese assassins tended to not wear body armor for stealth purposes. The main of his armor looks to have a face on it, possibly a leader or god. It also looks to possibly be a Scarab engraved. It's just too egyptian.
