Earthworms, FPS deals and LEGO Harry Potter on XBLM next week

Major Nelson has spilled all of the proverbial beans on next week's XBL content and deals, and it looks like the perfect time to catch up on some games you might have missed.

Leading the pack is Earthworm Jim HD, the long-awaited re-release of the only game in memory that lets you launch cows for fun and profit. It'll be out on Wednesday, June 9, for 800

($10). Red Faction Guerrilla and Need for Speed Undercover will be released for Games on Demand, and a demo for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be out on Monday, June 7.

The deals are excellent as well -- Worms 2: Armageddon, Duke Nukem 3D and Peggle (yes!) will all be on sale next week for 400

($5), and you'll be able to get FPSes Serious Sam HD, Call of Duty Classic and Battlefield 1943 for just 800

($10).

Definitely picking up Earthworm Jim, just wish it was 5 bucks instead of 10, but whatever.

Yea same thing I was thinking....if 40 moon bucks = $5 then most games would be expensive as shit at their current prices

You know, I'm considering buying EWJ again. I mean, I bought it on my PC through steam, bought the carts, and on my DSi. Yet, I'm still considering buying the game again.

It's for the achievements isn't it? ;)

Or I just want them to get funding for EWJ4.

I loved EWJ! That game takes me back to middle school! Although, my gamer cred is lacking because I could never get past the level pictured. It was so f'in punishing it frustrated the hell outa me.

Well it's supposely coming to the PSN as well, we just have to wait a bit longer to get it. Damn timed exclusivity

It's already on DSi. XBL this month, PSN month after (or Wiiware), and then which ever of those two doesn't get released in that month gets released the month afterwards.

Apparently the writer of this article has never played Destroy All Humans.

Did anyone pick up Snoopy from last week's releases? I hadn't yet and was curious what people thought of it.

I have, and it is awesome. Read the very positive IGN, 1up, and Gamespot reviews for details.

Not that it matters, but IGN gave Snoopy a 9.0 and Joe Danger a 9.5, so they could be sleeper hits maybe.

I absolutely did. Actually, it was a completely accidental purchase, but I don't regret it in the slightest. Try the demo, for real.

I think they ment Duke Nukem 3D and not HD. I got excited, thinking it might be an HD remake of the classic Duke side scrollers, or the release of Manhattan Project... oh well, those times will come.

I'll likely purchase Worms 2 though, and possibly Call of Duty Classic. Serious Sam HD should be on sale for 400 though - it's not exactly a $10 product.

And are you sure it's Battlefield 1942? Is that game even available on XBLA... I'm thinking it's a second typo and it's supposed to be 1943. In which case, DO NOT BUY. The games online is terrible now. If you can even log on to a game (some afternoons/evenings, you can't), the game will likely be unplayable due to lag. Very disappointing for what was a great game the first 6-10 months it was out.

$5 for Peggle is a steal. Love that game.

FYI: ps3 version is remote playable. Found that out by accident one night.

I cringe at the fact he called Duke Nukem 3D "Duke Nukem HD", for a video game blog, you would think these guys would get things write, especially when it come to names, not to sound bitchy though, but, its like Engadget calling a portable hdd "extra memory"
