New Vanquish trailer shoots, explodes, flips and then explodes again

Based on what we know of the studio's previous offerings, we imagine that somewhere at Platinum Games HQ, there's a keyboard with just five buttons, labeled "Explosion," "Laser," "Ninja Flip," "Giant Robot" and "Overly Dramatic Dialogue." In the case of the most recent trailer for Vanquish, we're pretty sure some Platinum designer, made weary from a long day of toil, fell asleep on said keyboard, filling the trailer with dangerous amounts of these five crucial elements.

You can check out the first look at Vanquish's preposterously fast-paced gunplay just past the jump, though your poor little eyes might have a hard time keeping track of everything. We suggest not questioning where all these bullets are coming from -- just turn your brain off for 101 seconds, and enjoy.

For some reason, when I heard that, I just bust out laughing. I have to say, the more I see of this game, the more I want to play it. I'm glad that Mikami is focusing only on the single player campaign and that there won't be multiplayer.

When I heard this game wouldn't have any multiplayer, I became skeptical... But after seeing this trailer this is gonna be a day-one purchase for me.

Looks pretty cool but I hope the levels aren't just one straight line... Some corners and maybe alternate pathways would be nice too.

It was funnier in my head. Was going with the whole "stop 'that' from happening". Oh well.

Don't worry, I got a good laugh out of it.
Especially when I play the actual game. Play through the whole game imagining that you're trying to stop some dude from getting busy and you'll probably laugh the whole time.

Meh. Doesn't look special. The dialog definitely turns me away... it comes off as cheesey and dull.

The only way Japanese developers are going to realize their dialogue is funny is when people here stop buying so many anime DVDs that do the same thing lol

Bad voice acting is bad voice acting. It's the fault of the voice actors, not the developers.

@Spaghettios: He's talking about writing, not voice acting. The best voice acting in the world can't help an absurd script. And a lot of anime and games do have ludicrous writing. And the quality of writing and directing can actually have a huge effect on the quality of voice acting.

That said, you're both trolls, though Spaghettios in this case a lot less than usual.

I've basically boycotted shooter games for a while now, as they've become too derivative over the past few years. But this will probably make me end my boycott.
The gameplay looks fresh, unique, and fun. It's like it combines Ninja Gaiden, Gears of War, and Macross into one great mix.

I'm beginning to suspect people don't actually know what a boycott is anymore.

It looks like a Metal Gear rip off with the boss battles. Also has a Final Fantasy feel to the graphics. The acting is horrible. But it looks like a game that would be a decent play, not a great play but decent.

Sex... this game will be better than it.

I'm not sure i like this, seems a bit to crazy like the damn missles that the robot fired what the hell how am is supposed to dodge all of those.

Damn, I was totally absorbed for a moment there. I want a piece of the action too! Can't wait to have this game released.

These graphics are simply mind-blowing o.o
