Jiminy Cricket voice actor mentions Kingdom Hearts: Recoded

The official website for professional voice actor Phil Snyder mentions a heretofore unannounced project with a somewhat familiar title: Kingdom Hearts: Recoded. Apparently, Snyder is following in the footsteps of the late Eddie Carroll, and providing the voice for the series' pocket-sized accomplice, Jiminy Cricket. The project's title seems to suggest that Square-Enix is working on a remake of the formerly Japan-only episodic mobile game, Kingdom Hearts: Coded.

We may end up getting concrete details about this project soon -- Siliconera reports the July issue of Game Informer features an interview with Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura, who explains that one of the two upcoming installments in the Keyblade-wielding franchise will be announced at E3. He didn't explain which language the game will actually be recoded in, but our money's on HTML5, since oh my God we can't believe we're making this joke what have we become.

seriously, 4 years is a bit too long of a wait.

Well Nomura said they're working on 3 KH games, one being KH3, but isn't the MAIN KH team working on Versus XIII?

I'm guessing it'll be another 2 years at this rate...

Kingdom Hearts Rerecoded: Recode Harder

Hey, HL2 came out after SIX years, and was the best game ever made, so I wouldn't worry. I have high hopes for GT5 also. Other games that took long? TF2, and it IS the best online multiplayer game, and Alan Wake, which another GOTY contender.

Just ordered Bayonetta on 360 and Darksiders on PS3. My wallet thanks you.

Personally I'm digging on all the gaiden games. Re: Chain of Memories and Birth By Sleep are cool by me, I like building on the world. That makes me all the more invested in KH3's narrative when they finish it. I'm not gonna lie, excited for KH3, but I'd be plenty happy getting my hands on Recoded.

X the Birth By Sleep, meant 358/2 Days which I'm currently going through =P

365/2 Days was...MEHHHH to me. It does not feel like KH.
Its like Chain of memories...but better.

And it'll be exclusive to wii, if the rumours are true.

My money is it'll be coming to PS3 and 360, and PS Fanboys will be pissed off yet again, and then gametrailers will award microsoft press conference for dropping the biggest bomb in E3 again.

It's a Cycle, and it's Square's fault.

I'd better get pre-ordering it now before people start protesting and making petitions to square enix.

I wouldn't care if KHIII came to 360. But if it comes to Wii, I will be PISSED

Yeah, as much as I love my Wii KH III just wouldn't fit well on the console. I'd much rather play it on my PS3 or 360, though I'd prefer it on PS3.

How about Kingdom Hearts Collection.. given the HD treatment (including cutscenes - as I mate said they were left untouched).. I have both consoles, so I don't mind if it goes 360 or not.. just the whore in me want's all the points or Trophies..

in all seriousness, i know i say this alot, but if they made an HD kingdom hearts PS3 bundle, i would totally buy it.

i love kingdom hearts, but every spin off and mobile game is making the story more and more convoluted than i thought possible. i could barely wrap my brain around chain of memories and kingdom hearts 2. just give us 3!!!

Okay, got my squeally fanboism out of the way, but I didn't want this whole game (much in the setting-vein of COM/Re:CoM it may be) to be relegated to scene integrations in later games (see: Roxas's naming from KHIIFM inserted into Days). Now, for my other hope... Before Crisis -FFVII-.

Jeesh. Be grateful. Instead of just getting KH3 as soon as possible, Nomura instead gives us 3 titles, two mini-spinoff titles and one main title that happens in the past. Even though Birth by Sleep is on the PSP it is still a main title, it's even longer to play than KH1 and 2. Then there's another title in the making, which is very likely going to be huge. Then we get KH3! Just imagine, all of these titles leading up to one massive game.

Don't know what the hell is wrong with people for downvoting you, but I agree completely. What's wrong with being excited for MORE Kingdom Hearts lore? Apparently something can only be good if it's suffixed with roman numerals?

I'm just stoked that the KH franchise caught on so well. Who'd of thought Disney and Square would make such a great combination?
