It's an XBL Deal of the Week extrabonanza

If Xbox Live were a used car lot, it would be positively festooned with colorful flags and packed to the brim with giant, inflatable animals this week. Six XBLA games have reduced prices this week and, what's more, each one is actually worth your attention. Worms 2: Armageddon, Peggle and Duke Nukem 3D have all seen their prices knocked from 800

($10) to a pittance: 400

($5). Meanwhile, Serious Sam HD, Battlefield 1943 and Call of Duty Classic have dropped from 1200

($15) to 800

($10). Add all those up and you've got six nutritious, filling games for $45 (through Sunday).

Seriously though, Peggle? For $5? And Worms 2? You'd have to have heart of stone (or a wallet filled with moths) to turn that down.

peggle is definitely worth it and they need to get rid of the damn point system it's just stupid your buying something to buy something else

Have you bought Points lately from the Xbox? The denominations have changed. They are now 400, 800, 1600 and 4000. You should be able to get the Points you need without having any left over.

Of course, if you're like me and already had points left over, that means you're stuck with those points festering around forever!

I actually don't mind the point system, if only because it makes it easier to get the points on sale (like half off). It seems like PSN cards don't get nearly as big sales, and that might be because they are for actual monetary value.

If I have Peggle Nights, is it worth getting Peggle?

You might be able to download them ahead of time on xbox.com marketplace

yeah, just buy it on the website and download them when you feel like it (or when you actually have a 360).

Worms 2 for $5 seems like an interesting proposition. I am not sure if the Worms community is still there for me to enjoy the online play however. Should I just wait and get it on Steam?

Worms 2 online community has a... presence. Its not the most robust community, but people do play it. Either way, $5 is a steal.

Unfortunately, I got all these games on PC and on PS3 (Battlefield 1943). It would be nice if next week due to E3 that all the XBLA games would be on sale or some sort of "buy 1 get 1 free" promotion.

But no...Major Nelson has to talk about Cirque du Soleil and the other two talk about their dogs.

They really need to change their podcasts on there -- it's too much like an informerical for the 360/Microsoft.

Anybody else gonna spring for Duke3D? I already have it on a zillion platforms, but it's a fantastic old school FPS, and I could use a good excuse to try it online.

I own it for PC and naught else. May get it. Want to have some left for Raystorm HD and upcoming niceties: Super Meat Boy and Monday Night Combat.

Do not care. Worms is old, peggle is merely puzzling.

Serious Sam and Duke 3d, I may get though. 1942 I feel may be a bit small in the playerbases, so I will skip on that.

And CoD... own it, and perhaps more importantly: want to do my best at not supporting Act-o-vision. That means lots and lots of getting almost to the checkout for Gabriel Knight games, and going oh, right, it's THAT company's coffers I'm lining.
