That's way less cumbersome than the huge Sesame Street controller for 2600.

Really? Here lately we have been getting huge news. I'm actually a bit worried there won't be many surprises.

This news is actually useful to me. I've been gaming for 30 years (i'm 35) and now I have a young daughter. This could be a great introduction to games for her. I'm sorry you thought the article was a waste of time but people outside of your demographic do use this site.

Oh boy... Just what all Wii owners want. :P Seriously though, this is gonna sell like, 5 times. Not all Wii owners are babies or children. (Though I have one, it's not been in use forever and it's getting dusty...)

Children and babies don't buy video game consoles, their parents do. I find it hard to believe that of the millions of parents who purchased a Wii for their young children, there wouldn't be a significant portion willing to purchase this for them as well - not to mention the children themselves that are somewhat eager to play a Sesame Street game, even though it would be educational.

Edutainment is huge (kids actually WANT Leap Frogs, jsyk), Wii is huge, Sesame Street will always be huge . . . It only makes sense to combine them.

Jesus Christ, where are you keeping that poor child that it's getting dusty?

I don't even want to think about what the "it's not been in use forever" part means...

@ BlueS

Your comment made me lol in the middle of a class. Funny stuff.

But yea, I'm getting this for me two year-old. I'll probably recommend it to my sister for her kids. I wonder who the other three people who buy this game will be (assuming MadSkeetElite's insightful analysis is accurate). We could get together for a Wii play date.

@BlueS Lmao, okay, that was pretty good, I lol'd. And I dunno you guys, I just can't see a Sesame Street controller case selling well. The game, yes, but not a furry little case. I dunno, just my opinion.

Get me Sesame Street (or Muppets) Wiimote covers that allow full wiimote function and I'd consider buying them separately just to have.

Damn our paternal instincts.

I'm on the same page with my 3 year-old.

I'm just hoping the games are engrossing and flash-based shovelware.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this---I actually want to see the game (I have a 2 and a half year old who has become quite proficient with Dora on the DS), but if you're only going to make a one-button game, why do you make that button the 1 button? The huge A in the thumb-place of the remote (even for a two year old) isn't the obvious choice?

Maybe they're thinking little kids will hold it with two hands and hit the 1 with their thumb on the bottom hand, I dunno. Is odd that the -, + and home are uncovered, though. When you only have four buttons to access, it seems those just scream "press me!"

Still, I must admit that I'm curious to see the game.

By the way, for anyone else with little kids looking for a way to engage them while you play, I've found that the second player option for Super Mario Galaxy 2 is great---they can do (admittedly limited) stuff, yet not screw you up. This is assuming they're old enough to understand the pointing mechanics, of course.
