Kid Rock is a talentless POS. He raps (terribly) over other peoples music. WOW!

Why not buy a real guitar? Hopefully it won't play and sound like ass.

What better way to learn to play than through a game?

going to a teacher? That tends to work, a guitar that is affordable as a game accessory is going to sound disgustingly out of tune all the time.

But, Hendrix re-strung his right-handed guitars to be lefty, and I seriously doubt this game is gonna support that.

The bridge looks like it'll allow restringing, and really why wouldn't it? If a string snaps your going to have to replace it to play the game.

I'm not sure that there is a market for this kind of musical realism (I always figured people enjoyed Guitar Hero/Rock Band in the same way that one might enjoy DDR. It is just fun to keep up with the 'markers') but I applaud them for giving it a shot. This is a good opportunity to expose people to the benefits of learning an actual musical instrument. I hope they have legitimate lessons within the game and would maybe consider a keyboard attachment as well. That'd be a simple thing to do. Just a thought.

Fans of Dave Matthews and Kid Rock don't need to be inspired to make their own music. There's already enough junk out there.

I gots no problem with Clapton, tho.

Wonder when the first music game will come out that uses a laptop and Logic Audio as its peripheral... ;)

What's wrong with Clapton!? I would like one example of why you think his work should not be featured in a guitar game…

i'd try this, but not so sure i'd buy it.
i could see this being a functional, maybe even a fun tool for people who really do want to learn how to play guitar. but i'm not sure about calling it a "game."

I think it's a cool idea. It doesn't hurt to get people interested in making music. And, the guitar sound good for what it is.

Guitar isn't that hard to learn. It's easier with songs you like, which I don't see this game having.

Doesn't gibson, fender, or some other guitar manufacturer own the patent to this type of game scenario? Didn't they try and sue Rock Band and Guitar Hero a couples years back and lost?

Yes, Gibson did. It was thrown out though, I'm not sure about the specifics of their particular patent.

I'm curious about whether the controller can or has to be tuned or if it will just sound terrible.

And also a rapist.

Only music game I've really been interested in, if you can actually learn the guitar.

Dave Mathews Band, and Kidrock though.... I think that could be the worst form of torture I've ever heard of.

I talked to one of the devs of this game. im under the impression It is going to allow all modes of play.so you can start at the "guitar hero" type of play.. and move upward to a more challenging and realistic style of play.

Could you ask them to add a feature where the notes stop showing up when you're in Superstar mode?

Like where you're progressing through a song, you don't miss any notes, and then the notes disappear and its just you and the guitar playing by memory?

I am so hyped for this game.

it would be cool if they could do something like this for keyboard...
(though that kind of limits the market to people who have a serviceable enough keyboard).

I've only learned rote-memorization of classical piano pieces, so I wouldn't be able to improvise myself out of a hole using a fake book. it's cheaper and more conveniently to do something in that format, as opposed to trying to bend my schedule around to go to the local city college and sit there for 4 hrs straight.

The possibilities are endless and it'd a a win-win for everybody. And who would think that a video game console could be used as a possible learning tool?
