Nexon's MMORPBEUG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Beat 'Em Up Game) has finally made its way to North American hearts, minds and internets. After racking up more than 200 million players overseas, the free-to-play, genre-defying Dungeon Fighter Online is now available to download at no cost through Nexon America's site.
If you're curious how an MMORPBEUG actually works, you can check out a whole gaggle of trailers over on the game's YouTube channel. Basically, it handles like Final Fight, only with a Diablo-esque user interface, and a Ragnarok-inspired art design, and World of Warcraft-esque character specialization trees. Yeah, it's all over the place.

Isn't this the game that gave out those giant bags at PAX?
The one that played horribly and wasn't fun at all so no one actually wanted to play it, but they went over there just to get the bags to carry swag in?

This is one of the few MMOs to actually drag me away from WoW for an extended period. It really is a ton of fun, just ignore the ridiculous storyline and enjoy the amazingly deep combat and beautiful sprites.
Not to mention it runs on nearly anything. Had on my Asus Eee PC netbook at around 30 FPS. However, I do warn that I can get a bit grindy, which is why it's best enjoyed with a solid group of friends over Ventrilo or whatever chat client you use.

Yeah I've been playing this for months as well, I was under the impression that it was publicly available since last October but I guess I was mistaken. Really fun game by the way if you're just looking for a classic side scrolling beatem up. The actual dungeons themselves are private areas reserved for you and your party (ala guild wars, DDO, take your pick ) while the towns are filled with the same four sprites times amillion. Anywho really worth a download if you're a fan of them old school games.

I was in the beta and it was fun for a little while. It felt really generic though, but I did not put a lot of effort into it; mostly because my right hand would strain after a short while. My RH is use to the mouse and not the keyboard for extended amount of time if that makes any sense.

this game is more of a game for those who love fighting games and games like final fight. I've been playing this game for awhile and am still playing it. It's the only free-to-play game that has kept me playing. It's really not generic at all, but yea if you put research into it, they're are so many diverse classes, play styles and builds. There are also many items that can be obtained and items can be refined. This game isn't really for the MMO lover imo, more for the Fighting games lover, luckily for me, the fighting genre and rpg genre are my top two favorite game genres.

the control scheme can either be played with keyboard or controller, the game works really well on both with a controller it feels more like a fighting game as you ahve motions such as quarter circle forward and all that followed by pressing a button, with keyboard it's hotkeys and movement. it's no clicking at all, the similarities to diablo is mainly the mobbing and interface
