I don't know if anybody caught this yet, but the Rilo Kiley song is called "Portions for Foxes", not "Portions of Foxes." I'm so happy that they're going to be on this game! :]

The keyboard looks sweet...tracklist looks weak. You RB fanboys kill me. The setlist is mediocre at best. But you guys act like the announced Led Zep. The GH tracklist is more appealing to me honestly and I don't really like metal. But hey, to each his own. I'm just saying let's be real...if GH announced these exact songs everyone would say how much it blows and Smash Mouth sucks. This sh*t reminds me high school...sheepeople.

This is like 15% of the final track list.

Plus RB1, RB2, Lego and the track packs all export into RB3, and all 1000+ DLC still works in it.

I'm not judging the whole game by this setlist by any means. My beef isn't even with Rockband its the "fans" who act like RB can do no wrong just because they have this crazy disdain for GH. I would like to see a blind test to see how ppl would react if you didn't tell them what game it was for or if you said this was the setlist for GH...see how many people would hate on it.

I'm interested in the new RB...but I dont "HATE" GH because of it.

I find this setlist to be amazing. The 90's and below songs are all great, to okay. It beats GH's emo music setlist.

given the enormous size of RB's DLC catalog, i think the "terrible on-disc set-list" argument is invalid.
i mean, this sounds like more than a sequel - with all the new features like ProMode and an enhanced Tour Mode, RB3 sounds like an all new game.

want to buy yearly disc-based set-lists? stick with Guitar Hero.
want real progression in terms of gameplay? go with Rock Band.

The keyboard seems like it would be better suited for Mr. Crowley than Crazy Train.

If all the variety of songs now open because of the keyboard, I will slap someone if 70% of the songs are Metal and Classic Rock again.

If they sell the game with the keyboard only and the price isn't anymore than $100, I'm sold.

Ditto; a game + keyboard option would be needed. $100 would be nice, but I imagine it'd be at least $120-$130. A keyboard that has uses outside of the game has got to cost more than a standard guitar controller (not that I want it to).

I really hope that they offer a new "Special Edition" bundle, with all the instruments, because mine seem to break way too easily, (red drum pad bubbled, whammy spring snapped on RB guitar, and the blue key is iffy on my GH guitar) looks like I'll be picking up the new GH guitar as well

As for Bohemian Rhapsody, I'm sold!

Lots of good songs on that list already. Granted, a couple of repeats from Guitar Hero, but it's looking nice so far. Bohemian Rhapsody! Also, nice to see Lasso by Phoenix. They are an awesome band.

I'll say it again - get Opeth's song "Burden" in on this thing, right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3tDw7znNyQ That's a link to the song right there, theoretically. 7:44, and I think it'd be ridiculously fun to play. And that keyboard solo would be AWESOME. AWESOME.

TWO AWESOMES.

And, eh, why not stick Blackwater Park in there while we're at it. Not enough good death metal songs, my family likes 'em 'cos they're easy to sing (in RB at least) and sound fantastic.

I'm really happy that it isn't *just* a keytar and you can actually sit down and play it like a keyboard. That I give them credit for. The Pro mode is a really cool idea, but I'm not so sure they're going in the direction I want them to with it.

For drums, if they used the four drum pads as snare, small tom, large tom, and floor tom and the three cymbals as hi-hat, crash, and ride and had them stay that way it'd be awesome. Maybe a hi-hat pedal and native charting for a double bass would be smart. You could also add the drum "held notes" and heavier or softer hits like Guitar Hero added.

For guitar you could add one string and a pick or a touch sensitive section and a special type of pick. Just some way to get ride of the strum bar and allow for some more realistic picking motion. Maybe the addition of some of the gameplay elements Guitar Hero added like held notes and open bass notes. And maybe that effects pedal Harmonix teased with Guitar Hero II and never came out with.

And I don't know if voice recognition technology is at that point, but you could do a mode where you remove the words from the screen but have some type of voice recognition, forcing you to pitch match and actually use the real words in the song, not just humming like an idiot. That would add some real skill and memorization to singing, much like you'd have if you were actually performing.

Anyway, that's just my input. I think making it like a real guitar with six strings is just stupid, and if you do that you might as well learn to play actual guitar. The whole point of Guitar Hero and Guitar Freaks originally was so that people who didn't wanna deal with the difficulty of holding and picking individual strings, switching between them, and hurting their hands in the process could still enjoy a Guitar-like experience of enjoying music.

I'm also stoked that they're letting us keep all our DLC from the first two games. I mean I figured they would, but to hear them say it makes it that much better!

I like that they're adding they keyboard, but I'm really hoping the music is going to be more diverse than this partial songlist would indicate.

Can't they put the entire keyboard chart (all four areas) up when there is more room on the screen like in single player? Seems like an un-needed restriction.

I am very sure that 25-key keyboard will work as a Midi controller. ADDED VALUE! But "The Power of Love" is what is going to make me buy this with the Keyboard. Now add some Glenn Frey in there, "Crockett's Theme" from Miami Vice and I can die a happy man! lol.
