Bring on the real guitar! That controller with actual strings looks so awesome. It's going to cost like $250, though. Maybe even more.

@Joystiq
I'd really like it if previews, reviews, etc showed at a glance the Developer, Publisher, and Expected Release Date. Just a thought.

I'm definitely excited for this. I love that it's backwards compatible with all the older ones and the track list looks great. A bit iffy about the keyboard, but it looks like a good way to start learning.

This sounds really crazy, but really interesting at the same time. I am more excited for this game than I have been for any other rhythm game.

I really love how they pretty much just murdered the game that wants to be as authentic as Kid Rock.

@Grey What really sucks is that planeteers are stuck with their powers forever now, and those of us that don't have one can't earn one.

A staple of the comments section is gone forever

Can't wait. THIS is why people like Rockband over Guitar Hero. Innovative features like the ones mentioned in the review. I'm sorry, but even without the setlist, I'm already sold (hello DLC import!!)

Oh and the whole new Joystiq site.. very nice. It's something to get used to, but it's like getting to sneak it in the backdoor for the first time.

@Iroquois GH has ALWAYS looked like a fisher price toy, RB atleast tried to make a real looking guitar and improved on it for RB2. With RB3 they've clearly sought to erase any doubt. I just fear for the difficulty level of playing the game with actual strings.

"the overshell allows drop-in, drop-out anywhere, anytime during the game -- as Harmonix told us, "this isn't a separate team mode or a party play style,""

This, I like. I loved the party play in Band Hero and GH5, but dropping in/out anytime? DAY ONE PURCHASE.

This sounds amazing. The hardware looks nice too (though I with the full Strat had some color) I wasn't thrilled when I intitally heard that Mad Catz had chosen the Fender Mustang design, but that thing looks sweet, if insanely complicated. According to Wired, it will even function as a MIDI instrument? Holy beans! The same Wired article mentions a controller box that will let you use any MIDI keyboard in the game, which explains the mysterious black box in the picture gallery.

I am so very psyched. The folks at Neversoft, however, are probably not so thrilled to be completely left in the dust like this... Bobby Kotick must be having a snot-flying tantrum.

I was curious as to what would come after RB2.

Then I saw the keys after the GD:RB demo and got excited.

Then I saw the new features and now I need new pants.

STP - Win
Ozzy - Double Win
Huey Lewis - Triple Win
Dio - Wintacular
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY!!

Day one purchase. Just hope the Full band kit doesn't cost $500.
