Steam sale: Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind
35
Bethesda's suite of RPGs have been discounted on Steam -- specifically, its Game of the Year offerings. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind gets the most drastic cut at 75% off, down to $5, while Fallout 3 has been discounted by 50% to $25. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion straddles the middle with a discount of 66%, down to $8.50.
As far as sheer hours-to-dollars ratio, you're probably looking at something like eleventy kajillion.
[Thanks, Brian]

@Bacon Deity This is the one situation where I feel pirating may be ok, since he did actually buy the full games on the 360. So at least he paid for one copy. That's more like buying a dvd and copying it to a VHS so you can watch it in your TV upstairs rather than straight up stealing it.

Pirating: illegal.
But forcing us to buy games separately for each platform we own _should_ be illegal. I wouldn't be surprised if this could be considered fair use, or at least, should be considered fair use.
My personal preference is just not to buy them for multiple platforms, and be sure to patronize companies that offer multiplats more than their competitors who don't. Thank you, Blizzard! Thank you, Valve and other developers going multiplat on Steam. Sadly, crossing the Computer/Console divide is more difficult.

Got all three but only have fallout 3 normal edition. Wish I could upgrade to goty without having to buy it again.

So, if I buy Oblivion for $8.50, and ultimately buy the horse armor for $4.00, should I just be put to sleep?
I mean, I've had a good run right?

steam makes it impossible to save money.

@toadsworth Seriously. Especially in the last few months, I've bought so many games that I don't have the time to play just because I've wanted to play them at one point. I'll probably pick up FO3 because that's a pretty good price, but Oblivion I'll probably wait until the next holiday sale because I picked up Morrowind during the last one and I haven't played that at all (blasphemy, I know. College takes up most of my time).

I bought Oblivion and it looks awesome. However I'm lost and don't know if I should stay on the main quest or side quest to lvl faster. I already have like a dozen of quest and I don't even know where to start..oh well gamefaqs ftw!

Every quest scales to your level, so powerleveling is useless ;)

I never had any of them, so I bought all three and Secret of Monkey Island: SD (I only ever played MI3). It ran $58, less than the cost of a new release. This is one of the (many) reasons is why I love Steam.

@JPeak Aha! That's what I keep telling myself, except I never play these games. I should really be finishing Mass Effect 2 and then going back to Dragon Age so there's no reason for me to buy Fallout 3, but I'll get it anyway because I'm a sucker for RPGs yet until recently I haven't had the disposable income to really buy them.

At last! Having played vanilla Fallout 3, I've been waiting for the GotY version to go on sale so that I can finally try out all those mini-expansions. Now the only question is how easily applicable mods are to the Steam version of the game, as I've never tried mods on Steam before.

@(Unverified) I've heard that they work perfectly on both Oblivion and Fallout 3.

I was not bragging about it at all. I don't even pirate shit anymore. But logically, doesn't it make sense? You already own the game, and you're not at the convenience to take your console somewhere, so why not have a version of the game to play on your laptop temporarily?
You're a jerk.

Wish MS would do some major discounting to the XBL stuff like Steam does... I might actually buy something from them.

But I have too many games still to play! Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Monster Hunter Tri.
Damn you Steam! I want to play Oblivion and Fallout 3 (played an hour or 2 of both, like the intros but had university to suck out all my gaming time, but down vote if you wish), but how have I time to dedicate 200 hours to them? Gaming is becoming stressful.
