Looks a lot like the first game but a lot smoother! Graphics have surprisingly been improved (I'm surprised because I thought the first one looked great).

It looking like the first game is a compliment by the way.

I really hope the multiplayer doesn't take away from the single again...It seems to have the same creepy atmosphere for now, but just the fact that a crappy multiplayer is tacked on there might ruin my opinion on this...

Why does Issac look younger and edgier? The marketing machine they put this game through displeases me.

If I was an engineer, mining planets for resources, and ended up fighting my way through a ship of infected people, I definitely wouldn't then decide to bring the fight to another planet. Is it just me or does this sequel seem to add an unnecessary machismo to what made the first game so amazing?

@Cerpin Taxt

it does, but they had to make a sequel some how. I liked the fact that I was just some dude that had to survive using tools...and an assault rifle....but I also like the fact that I will be playing another game just like it.

maybe they should have had you be another person in a similar time period in a different area.

I see your point, but think about it like Ripley in Alien and Ripley in Aliens - the first one, she was just fighting for survival. In the second, she was brought in because she was as close to an expert on the xenomorphs as there was (basically). Maybe they're going to go with something like that?

I kinda wished that they would have taken a page out of Vanquish's book and left the multiplayer out of it. I can see some games that would benefit from multiplayer, but not all. It would be the equivalent of Konami deciding to add multiplayer to Silent Hill in order to make the series relevant again. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on a game that isn't even out yet, but I just get the feeling that the MP will be simply tacked on and the single player campaign will suffer because of it. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong. So far, the game looks kickass cool.

Looks...very same-y....which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not sure I like that Isaac has a face now either. Kind of destroyed my idea of him in the first game.

he always 'had a face'. You could see him without the helmet at the begining and at the end of the first game.

I love Dead Space, but lets be real. If it wasn't for the free-floating zero-g footage at the beginning of the trailer anyone could confuse this for Dead Space 1. Not hating on the game before I see it proper, but all in all this was a really poor trailer. Show a new enemy type or some really neat environments instead of corridor #54. There is no doubt in my mind that DS2 will kick ass, although it would have been nice to see more new stuff. *crosses fingers for a great E3 reveal*

People always say this stuff. But it's a sequel. It's supposed to be the same. Whenever developers make any major changes to existing IP's people just complain about how it isn't the game they loved the first time around. I'm sure they'll be cool new environments and a few new weapons and enemy types, but you'd be mistaken to expect anything but more Dead Space from this.

when bioshock 2 was the same as the first, I was disappointed because the first one was boring.

if this is the same as the first I will be ecstatic, because the first one was awesome.

But that was in passing and not a center piece. Now its like, "Hey look! Its Isaac's face... Right here! Face all over your attention!" Ultimately, his face is the helmet and that trailer face is just out of place.

I'm just now renting Dead Space Extraction. That's right...Dead Space Girl. The severe lack of Dead Space Girl in DS2 does move my excitement meter down a little, but I loved the first one...so I guuuueessssssss I'll probably like this one too.

This really looks great. I bought the first one just to have some variety in the titles I own, and to scare the hell out of myself while having fun.

Dead Space 2 seems to be coming along very nicely, with just enough contrast from its predecessor to bring out more enjoyment and fun, and plenty of ties to the first to still bring that awesome level of intense, close encounters with Necros and the like. I like the new enemies shown here as well.

The only thing I could think of with the beginning sequence was Iron Man. I hope this game tries to keep the same creepy environments and have more genuine scares rather than relying on jump scares which it seems a lot of scary games and movies have been doing as of late.

Oh man, I love Dead Space. This does look somewhat identical to the first one though, and I hope they show some more variety.

Also, I wonder what the text at the end means? Just before the web address comes up.

Zero G flying is instant buy for me! No more jumping to walls and then getting confused as to which way I'm facing!!!

Oh and I like the frozen-ish setting, looks cool.

For some reason, this trailer's not giving me a good feeling about the sequel. It's like they're trying to hard to make it an action game instead of making it a survival horror game. ugh...heavy metal guitars not necessary, and the trailer wasn't even remotely creepy, unlike the first game's, which were all very good (esp. the first major trailer).

Maybe that comes along with the fact that he's no longer trying to survive off of limited resources, so this game might be more like the "Aliens 2" of the franchise.

Looks great though...much more polished this time around. I just hope the story is as great as the graphics too.

Well, I liked the trailer. Was there motion blur in there? It looked like there was motion blur in there. So that's cool! I know it's not actually realistic, but it does make it feel more... immediate, I guess? And yeah, the gameplay looked same-y, but I still get excited over DS1's shooting mechanics so I'm happy. (and am I the only one who wants there to be nine of these games so I can abbreviate them as DS9? Because I totally would do that, and giggle)

Also where is this hardcore and heavy metal guitar everyone is talking about? I mostly heard some bass and lots of drums/percussion - sounded like relatively mellow industrial more than anything else. *confused* Not trying to be a music jerk here, I was just expecting some lame and not-even-slightly-fitting use of Godsmack or something. That seems to be the "in" thing these days.

This looks really great. Let's hope they got rid of those pointless mini-games from the first game. Nothing like getting ripped right out of the atmosphere by playing a little zero-G basketball.
