An alleged Italian Microsoft ad, originally found on Console Tribe, seems to have revealed a slim Xbox 360 alongside a renamed Project Natal, touting a 250GB HDD, built-in WiFi (it's the future!), and compatibility with "Kinect" -- presumably the new name for Natal. The advertisement leads back to the Italian Microsoft site and the source of the page tells us that Atlas Solutions -- a Microsoft-owned ad company -- pushed the image automatically to the site.
We've checked in with Microsoft to see if the news is legit, but we're not expecting much before tonight's Project Natal Cirque du Soleil "spectacular." In the meantime, you can check out the ad embedded after the break.
Update: The ad we embedded after the break seems to have been pulled, so we've added a video in its place.
consider the size of the disk drive its essentially double that size which is relatively small; I dont think it looks that bad I think it looks a bit sleeker than the current one. I think it could have been better if it had cleaner lines but still not terrible.
if you use the disc tray(the dvds must be the same size) as a measurement device you can tell that this thing is about 10 inches tall by simply comparing it to xbox360. so it is basically the same size and about as ugly as a pile of shit sculpted into original xbox and then hacked at by a dieing infant. then some birds shit all over it. then old almost menopausal woman throw there used tampons all over that xbox shaped shit stick. then a homeless person vomits on it. then they press it into the shape of something the worst alien ware designers designed after beating his wife out of intoxication.
built in wifi will hopefully make people stop whining, i honestly didn't mind paying for a wifi router, i use the system a lot and i thought it was a good investment, now natal (I mean kinetic), well not sure about that, i hope it will be great. anyhoo E3 is here, so thats good.
More Vents to avoid the RROD ? Yes please? quit your bitching of how it looks who cares if my 360 was a elephant with wifi built in and a 250gb i wouldn't care as long as it gets the job done.
It could look better... a LOT better. But since this bad boy is sporting built-in Wi-Fi and a 250 GB HDD, I might just have to submit. Not to mention the generous amount of ventilation applied to the case will allow for some breathing room for the components.
Microsoft definitely took the Alienware approach with this release, though. Looks like a budget gaming PC - which it essentially is...
I'm new to Joystiq. I was directed here by my boyfriend, who told me about the Italian XBOX 360 Slim advertisement posted here. I don't speak Italian, but I have studied linguistics for a long time on my own, and was able to make a workable translation with the slight aide of AltaVista's BabelFish. Here is my translation into English:
******** -Presentazione della nuova Xbox 360 = Presentation of the new XBOX 360 -Disco rigido da 250 GB = Hard disc is 250 GB -Funzione Wi-Fi incorporato = Wi-Fi function included -Compatibile con Kinect = Compatible with Kinect -Vivi Oggi = Living Today! -Pronta per il futur la tecnologia del Domani = Are you ready for the future of technology tomorrow? ********
It looks a lot like a teaser advertisement for a new product; not a lot unlike what I've seen in various English advertisements. I hope this helps.
Pardon? I don't own an XBOX 360, nor do I plan on purchasing one. I just noticed that although this fine video was here, there was no translation for the text in it. I decided to help everyone out and translate.
I would not part with my cash for any current-generation console at the time being. Right now, things being as they are in my life, I have more important things to spend the money on (computer, toiletries, food, school supplies, etcetera). With all honesty, it's hard for me to choose between the current consoles. My boyfriend already owns a Nintendo Wii, so I'm not too worried about being left out of everything at the moment. I'm not the most avid videogamer anyway, but I do like to keep up with the news because I am fascinated with where the industry is going when it comes to hardware.
Anyway, I heard that the official information on the Slim was released today. Seems my translation was correct. I'm glad at least one person was happy for the translation.
I'll wait till 1:30 pm to see the official photos before I make a judgement, but my initial impression is not favorable. I like consoles that look like Home theater pieces, not Hot Wheels storage bins.
Still, its on my list. the current 360 looks outdated compared to my PS3 slim sitting next to it.
