It's 2010. I wouldn't call 3D a "revolution" anymore.

I'm pretty sure that Crysis is playable in 3D. And Far Cry was, too. Of that I'm certain.
But I guess on consoles it's new.

Crysis was barely playable w/ 3D Vision. It had serious issues rendering the effects. You could turn them off and it would still look pretty bad ass though. Far Cry 2 on the other hand, played great in 3D. In fact, Avatar the game, which fully supported 3D, used that engine.

It's one of the few 360 games to support 3d.Wish microsoft was giving it more push, most people don't know 360 can also pull 3d (only maybe not quite as good as ps3 or pc).

I'm more of a 360 dude myself, but i think sony is doing the industry(and themselves) a big favor supporting this early stage of 3d, like they did on the psx with polygon 3d, it may have been far from pretty but we were all impressed back then.

My point is that you can expect next generation to use correctly fully capable 3d hardware if you haven't tested the still primitive 3d software.

@VampireKillerX

I actually read Avatar on 360 ran better than on the PS3 in 3D mode. Only tried it on PC myself though.

@Viking34

I know. Not only was your comment a waste of space, but a waste of time to read as well!

I need a second monitor anyway, and looking at prices I think I can get one that supports 3D for only $50 more than I wanted to spend for a normal one (unless the price on the couple models I was looking at drop, then yay for waiting). Plus having a 120hz set will help for PC games down the line. At least I'll be able to try out the 3D games without a super-hardcore hit to my wallet.

I also get in on 3D gaming on the cheap. I got a 120hz Dell (Trinitron) CRT for free before I upgraded to a 3D projector! The only hit I had to take was the 3D Vision glasses, but my 8800 GTS supports 3D so I was good to go on all fronts.

I got a Viewsonic 3D PJ for $420 at Amazon. It's discontinued now but I see they have one that's even cheaper now! The 3D is amazing on it.

I'm thinking about a 3D capable projector for our basement so maybe people won't have to be dead center to enjoy hotness, but that's a bit much for me.

I'll be honest, though, the only reason I care about 3D is because I can do it on the cheap, so I'll probably stick to a new monitor to use for the PS3 (so I only have to buy glasses and not the fill Nvidia kit). Plus I like doing things for a fraction of the price as other people who don't do as much research. Don't know why, but it makes me feel good :)

Crysis 2 will already push hardware to the limits, what are they trying to do? Make it explode!?

@Lerkero

It'll be good press, I think. "Can your computer run our hot ass game and not burn down your house!? Try it and see..... right after signing this little user agreement."

i already wear glasses so no thanks.soon 3D will be forced on us like sony did with blu ray, buy killing off HD DVD which was a better format.they are trying to tell us we need a new tv, Fuc$ that i just got my lcd tv that can play 3d movies. we have enough problems with developers making a balls of the games they make now without having to worry about them fecking up 3d. think about it we have frame rate issues now what will it be like when they double up on it.
