So with the event being over, was a price hinted at? Perhaps they will wait for the main conference for that?

Weird that they don't use Microsoft's own Tag barcode system... Guess those two teams don't communicate.

@Lonin Ya, that is using the Microsoft Tag system, you can see the tag boxes right on the tags themselves.

This is kind of lame. Last year they said Natal (pardon, Kinect) would recognize tons of items. It would be much cooler if it recognized the plushie instead of a code.

@ch3burashka

We don't know that yet. The game may let you.

@ch3burashka Kinect _can_ detect items. The fact of the matter is, for promotional material such as this - anybody could get a photo of the thing and hold it up to their Kinect and get something for free.

Of course thats not what they want, so its done a different way.

You should fully expect to see games/apps that feature scannable items - it's a technology that has been around for a good few years now.

@ch3burashka Good point. Also the plushie would be a bit more difficult to replicate. These cards will show up as images on the net in no time (unless you need to have infrared ink).

I want to scan my dog in so I can neglect him for a virtual one.

? The code is much easier to copy and much more easily recognized by the camera.

Besides, it's a 3D camera, so a picture of the item wouldn't work. D'oh!

All this crap just makes me less interested in Move and Kinect or whatever Natal is called now.

I enjoy the fact that they're listed on the tag as "Project Natal Animals" yet the barcode, of sorts, has a 'K' for Kinect.

...

Make up your mind, plushies.

Well its nice to see that they finally figured out that Natal was like the dumbest name ever .... Kinect being only a few rungs above it but at least its moving in the right direction.

I'm sure they will sell these animals in the future because I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes.
