Medal of Honor beta June 21 on Xbox 360, PS3 & PC

The Medal of Honor multiplayer beta will launch June 21 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Beta codes will be distributed by retailers to pre-purchasers of the game. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 "VIP" members (anyone who bought the game new or bought VIP access) who have also pre-ordered Medal of Honor will receive early access to the beta, beginning this Thursday, June 17.

The beta will include two maps, Helmand Valley and Kabul City Ruins, and support for up to 24 players across two gameplay modes, Team Assault and Combat Mission. During its E3 press conference today, EA showcased a live demonstration of the DICE-developed multiplayer. It looked sharp, and it looked a lot like Modern Warfare too.

Additional details about beta enrollment are available on medalofhonor.com. Medal of Honor is scheduled for release on October 12.

Ah damnit, you have to preorder it aswell. So June 21st here I come...

Looks dirty! It appears much smoother than MW2 and more "solid" than BC2 (like the bullets register correctly, everything just feels solid!)

Can't wait for the beta. I will give it a run on my PC, PS3 and 360.

Look, everyone crying about this supposed "VIP" access and its lack of cool free content... it's nothing but a fancy EA designation for the first-party purchasers of the game.

So instead of calling the folks that purchase the game used from GameStop or eBay as "Scrubs" or something like that, they call the original purchasers a "VIP" instead. Don't go gettin' yer hopes up for something special.

Do you need to have bought Bad Company 2 to get the beta when it comes out on June 21?

No but if you bought BF:BC2 new you get it on the 17th.

We have to preorder to access the demo. This whole VIP thing supposedly meant access to exclusive and worthwhile content, while all we have gotten is on disc game modes for maps and the opportunity to access a beta.

It played and sounded like BC2 to me, which is not a bad thing at all. Will definitely give the beta a lot of attention on the 21st since you have to have MOH pre-ordered also >_>

People are getting confused. Here it is in a simple format:

Pre-order MOH: Get in the BETA on the 21st.
Pre-order MOH & Be a BFBC2 VIP member: Get in the beta on the 17th
Neither of the above: Ain't getting in the BETA.

It basically looks like Modern Warfare on the Battlefield 2 engine.. even though that car bomb looked sweet :)

Here's a question. I bought BF:BC2 for PC new but I want to try the beta on my PS3. Would that work? Can I get any EA love?

No, no you cannot.

@TheRagingBull Yeah it'll work. Since I got the first BC for PS3 and got BC2 for PC, but still got the VIP as its tied to your email. So it SHOULD work.

I agree with the article on the whole multiplayer looks like modern warfare, thats actuall what i thought while i was watching the demo on g4. I wonder what's going to really set it apart from Black Ops though, cuz watching them shooting people and throwing grenades didnt excite me enough to choose them over call of duty.

I'll play the beta and give you all your networking and balancing data, while also probably getting me psyched for the game, but I'm not pre-ordering the game just to do that. Sorry.

Gamer's can be such hypocrites at times. They complain that the COD series isn't doing anything new, yet get excited about a COD clone.

Yep. All VIP gets you are rehashed, slightly modified versions of maps you already have in shitty modes like Squad Rush or Squad Deathmatch.

Who the hell wants to play a Battlefield game with tiny linear maps with only 8 players? Call of Duty has more players than that, if you want tiny maps with few players, at least COD has a good framerate and way better controls.

Battlefield 3 needs to go to the old school, the huge battlefields, the vehicles that aren't useless, fixed wing aircraft, etc.

I never really figured out if I was a VIP member for BC2. Did you have to sign up for it or something? Someone bought BC2 for me as a present via Steam. I've never seen any emails or anything from EA about it. I'm guess I'm probably out of luck.

And yeah, you're absolutely right about gamers on forums being hypocrites with double standards. If you call it "MW2" they hate it for some reason, but if you call it "Medal of Honor", suddenly its incredible, even when its the exact same damn thing, just not as polished.
