@Raffi256 That's what that AUX port is for on the back of the Xbox 360 S.
Microsoft was thinking how do we copy Apple and Sony at the same time. We'll make a slim console that's shiny and then call it Xbox 360 S like the iPhone 3G S with the shiny backing.
Don't downrank me. I just tell the truth.

Please tell me that I won't have to buy the power cable separately for $19.99.

Not as far as we've been told. Adam Greenberg mentioned it would be "included" with the package. Here's hoping.

Where do you shop that Wi-fi dongles cost $100?
But yes, good to see that the obviously packed in power cable is obviously packed in. And that my jokes are taken seriously.

Thanks, Microsoft. The 360 didn't use enough energy already?

First of all, it comes with the plug. Not sure why everybody thinks this is a huge deal. This thing is packed with expensive tech. It's not a cheap webcam.
Secondly, Ben - your article is misleading. You say "some extra power outlets", yet it's clearly only one extra needed - and you say it yourself later in the same paragraph...

actually....no it can't. eyetoy can't track in 3D and that's why sony needed to make the move controller because it uses the relative size of the ball for depth tracking.
This thing is a lot more than a webcam and the reason they showed off the software they did was A) they need to impress the Wii audience, and B) the people making "real" games were too busy rehashing to take the time to re-envision them for it or come up with new ideas for it. Give it time and the good stuff will come. They at least have the benefit of already having a core market unlike the wii.

Looks like somebody missed the entire show. Lets talk when you show evidence of the Eyetoy's 3D camera, automatic head tracking, 4 player complete body tracking, drop-in drop-out split screen play automatically switching when a new player steps on screen...
The Eyetoy has always been a simple webcam with clunky software. Things that have been available on PC since the early 90s. The new Eyetoy with Move is simply a Wii remote with Augmented Reality, which even the iPhone can do.
You honestly have no idea what the Kinect is actually doing, do you? Please do your research before spouting fanboy nonsense. The Eyetoy can simply not do what the Kinect can do.
It cannot take your measurements so precisely (height, hips, waist etc) like the Ubisoft game does on Kinect - it cannot understand depth at *all* - it doesnt know the difference in tone of voice - it can't track seperate arms, legs and heads and do different things with them depending on the software.
EyeToy can see something is there. It can see anything is there. Anything that moves, it can see. It does not know if its a human body shape, a dog, a peice of paper, a ball, anything like that. It simply sees it as movement against a non-moving background.
I'm serious - if you can come up with some video demo showing the Eyetoy doing what the Kinect just did at E3, then you will have my apologies. But I know for a fact you will find nothing of the sort.

HAHA did you even see ubisofts demo? dance dance video? they werent even playing it, they just pulled out the kinect as a prop. go ahead watch it, it looks legit until they speaker turns around and its still giving him perfects hahaha.. none of the demos presented recognized 3d space, yes it recognized if you were in form, nice, it does the automatic player recognition, whatever. does the Z-axis actually work? from what i saw from the press conferences it only recognized where you were in relation to the screen, ie duck hunt without a gun. the same tech that your paying 150$ extra is going to be standardized in televisions as remote controls. oh and can you get force feedback with just your hands and a camera, nope i didnt think so, ,looks like you'll need a whole body suit, wonder how much uncle bill is gunna charge for that

Great points.
I'd like to point out that after seeing it's precision I'm more confident then ever it will be great for RTSs.

I'm not about to get into an argument about what I have or havent done - needless to say, your points are completely invalid as it's clear you didnt see the show and are just making snap judgements for some reason.
Most obvious reason being you want to dislike it before getting to understand what it actually does.

I have no more power-points and yes I am using those power bricks with four extra sockets. Maybe I can convince the other members of the house to get rid of the standard definition set top box...

=\ Though maybe i might end up buying it against my will.

well KINECT is just an upgraded EYETOY but sony is pretty stupid for not doing it first and not supporting there hardware so you can't blame MC for doing it although MC still have to master making hardware so i might just wait a month or 2 before buying this to see if theres any falsess that are going to make me an angry customer

The eyetoy just recognises movement against a still background
Kinect actually can tell the diffrence in weight between two people
it adds split screen automatically when another person steps in front of it..
it's way more than an eyetoy

Are you excited to experience the fun that Xbox Kinect brings? Well, a lot is really so. It wouldn't be Microsoft if they didn't try to one-up the competition; they're featuring entire human body motion rather than just hand movements. This is about to be an add-on for the XBox 360 rather than a total new console. In addition the new Microsoft game is said to capture facial expressions and movements. The XBox Kinect, the name of the new method, probably isn't really likely to be cheap. Do not feel bad if you have to take out a money advance to buy this method, there are most likely to be numerous other individuals doing the exact very same thing just to acquire 1 of these before they are outdated with newer systems.
