Hydrophobia trailer floods our hearts and minds
21
Dark Energy Digital fired off a new trailer for its exceptionally moist episodic action title Hydrophobia earlier today. As always, the water which protagonist Kate is forced to traverse looks wonderful (in a deadly kind of way). We're perplexed, however, by all the fire featured in said video. We're no scientists, but shouldn't that turn the aforementioned water into, well, steam?

Maybe BP covered the water in oil, and that is what is burning?

Is it wrong that this gets me WET?

First, everyone wanted to do water. Then, it was fire. Now, it's fire water. Hegel's dialectic process in video games right there.

ah. this is killing me.
Why couldn't they show more games like this at the MS conference instead of so much kinect.
XBLA is such a good service and it was just a footnote.

@(Unverified) :: Because Kinect will make them more money, and it is new so they need to make as many people excited about it as they can.

This game seems to have aged graphically since the first time I saw it. I guess announcing it how ever many years ago it was announced hasn't helped.

Is it just me, or does that water look more like clear colored oil than water. It just does not look and behave like real water does.
Maybe the game takes place on a low gravity planet or something and water behaves differently there.

I remember being excited about this game before, but now all I can think is how last gen and mediocre it looks. Even the water doesn't look great, or even realistic. Hmm..

Is anyone else getting a kind of Beyond Good and Evil vibe from this? Because I certainly am.
