Pac-Man Championship Edition DX coming to XBLA, PSN this fall

The Pac-Man party continues as Namco Bandai has announced a followup to 2007's excellent Pac-Man Championship Edition: simply, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX. The so-called sequel will launch on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this fall, adding new mazes, modes and enhancements to the CE formula.

In fact, DX sounds seriously "deluxe," expanding the original Championship Edition's six mazes to "more than 100 varied and mind-boggling" courses, according to Namco Bandai. Additionally, new modes will include Time Attack Mode, an objective-based Mission Mode and the (devour) Ghost Mode.

We'll look to gobble up more details at Namco Bandai's Pac-Man birthday event tonight. (Old Yellow's turning 30!)

I was hoping Pac-Man CE would make its way to PSN eventually.

Exactly my reaction.

sounds awesome. i always wanted to get the pac man CE game (loved the demo) but for some reason i never did. sounds like this is what i've been waiting for!

first xbla game i have seen since e3 started. couldn't believe they didnt show any arcade games at the conference

I'm glad to see that this will arrive on the PS3 this time around. Happy 30th Birthday, Pac-Man! I'm surprisingly looking forward to this one now.

Soooo... When can I get a reasonable 4 way joystick so I can play this properly?! Or at least let me use the right thumb stick so I can hold it between the fingers on my right hand.

I'm still somewhat anxious about the promised revolution. So far, this and Pac-Party have been underwhelming. I really hope that this is their ploy to lower our expectations only to blow them out of the water.
