B.O.B has some great songs just. The few mainstream songs out doesn't do him justice...

Holy shit. The Prodigy, Gorillaz and MIA would be awesome.

Not really excited for Deadmau5 because I already know they're gonna just throw in the over-played Ghosts N Stuff.

Needs some Not Exactly and Strobe.

@(Unverified) I Remember (Vocal Mix) is probably my favorite of his Non Electro stuff. Ghosts N Stuff is kind of overplayed, but I love it. So much. Rob is great, and even the version without ROb is amazing. ElectroHouse is probably my favorite genre ever.

@eXist Yeeeeah... I upranked this because I love DnB. Would prefer not Pendulum, but hey, nobody would know who it was if they gave us anyone else! So yeah, Pendulum will do. Just stop putting rock musicians and crap pop artists in DJ game!

@eXist THIS.
It would make me mildly interested in the game.
It's a shame that not even Pendulum has gotten any attention. They're probably the least niche DnB group what with Rob Swire's vocals.

@eXist

I'd like some DnB but not pendulum. They're not DnB anymore and produce too much of a hybrid pop/dubstep/electronic mix that they've forgotten their own roots.

Now, some High Contrast wouldn't go a miss. Nor would some logistics or pretty much anything on Hospital Records.

Never gonna happen though. Too much of a commercial game so perhaps Pendulum suits better. Pop for pop

How have none of you mentioned Dieselboy yet? Also some of Photek's newer stuff falls into the DnB realm, plus he's been making music longer than a lot of these guys, it'd be awesome to get some tracks from him.

@MrAlex I don't know why they spoil what could be a great DJ game with such mainstream crap. Pop artists? Rock bands? Where is the support for the real DJs that should be headlining this game? I count only 7 in that list of 24.

@Muhammad Oli I'll let you in on a secret. They are trying to cater to the largest group of people they can. Because that way more people will buy the game. Ridiculously simple to understand.

I know plenty of people who were turned off by the pop and rock aspect of it. I personally had never heard of Daft Punk, and don't know who Deadmeau5 is.

When I bought the first I was expecting a Hip Hop version of Rockband or Guitar Hero. I still enjoyed the game though and plan on getting the sequel.

you couldn't have got it more spot on there. The bloody beetroots are intense. Dubstep and dnb would be nice too but thats clearly not gonna happen.
Doesn't this list seem to be exactly like the first game? More Jackson 5? MIA? Here's hoping they dont use the same songs they repeated for most of the mixes in the first one...

They really need to get some more techno and electronica in, or hell, less mainstream stuff in general. Nightcore, DJ S3RL, Pendulum, all the way down the list to artists I doubt anyone in Activision have ever heard of, all going to be ignored in favor of a bunch of pop artists who need to be remixed to sound any better than elephant flatulence. Depressing, really.

@(Unverified) DJ S3RL...? REALLY? He's so bad. Happy Hardcore is not very good music for a game like this anyway. Sure you could put it in, but it's just too fast to do anything really fun with. Especially if you want some S3RL in there.

I would love to see some Pendulum, even some of their new clubby stuff from Immersion would be nice.

Evol Intent would be GREAT, maybe some NOISIA and Spor...Oooooo...16bit. I would love to see what these DJs could mix that would actually scratch well over these guys though.

I could see them putting in NOISIA's Exodus (song) in there. It had a good rap section that was fairly clean.

Okay guys, this is gonna be a long one.

1) There is no such thing as Electronica music. Electronic, yes.

2) There is no Techno in this game, Techno is a subgenre that is mostly complete garbage. Prodigy & Cemical Brothers are Big Beat, Deadmau5 & Daft Punk are House (Well, Daft Punk is French House if you wanna get UPPITY with me). Tiesto is Trance. Justice is Electro (For the most part), etc.

3) Contrary to popular belief (from what I can see here, it's popular anyway), DJs still play a lot of pop music. Raves and Rap Battles aren't the only things DJs do. Clubs, parties, etc. Even if they don't like it, they still play pop like LADY GAGA because they have to. It's what regular people want.

4) Another reason for pop music is that it's much easier to sample and scratch over. If you put a pop track over an Electronic one, you scratch and morph the pop while leaving the Electronic one the same.

5) Kind of goes with 4. I am a DJ, I play mostly Electro, House, Hardcore, and DubStep in my sets. This music is (for the most part) NOT GOOD FOR SCRATCHING. DJ Hero would be absolutely no fun if it were all fades, effects, and BEATMATCHING. A BEATMATCHING game, OH BOY!

Anyway, for the lighter side of this comment, I'm looking quite forward to this. I bought the first, and I'll buy this one. I'm VERY excited to hear Deadmau5. I know it's overplayed, but I love Ghosts N Stuff in either FEATURING ROB mode or not. I'd really love to see 'I Remember' on there. It's such a beautiful Deep House track.

I'm also really hyped for Prodigy and Chemical Brothers. Firestarter, Spitfire, Smack My Bitch Up, etc. Just to start for Prodigy. Chemical Brothers could bring so much to the table too. Galvanize, Block Rockin' Beats, Giant (My personal favorite), etc. Gotta love that Big Beat!

@MorbidToaster what are you talking about no such thing as electronica. look up the word in the dictionary. it is just a general term for any kind of dance music that uses synthesizers. for the purposes of this conversation i am referring to underground dance music. i.e. house, trance, dnb, etc.

That's just it though, you can't just say this genre is bad for this game. Look at Beatmania, it's got pretty much all genres a turntable can be involved in. DJ Hero just does a bunch of hip-hop and pop mixes. If you're going to rip off of an obscure franchise, at least try and pay it a little homage for the fans of said obscure franchise. The mainstream songs make it a mainstream title; the less known artists thrown in won't do anything to hinder that status. Honestly I want to see some Lights thrown in too...her music would be really fun to play if mixed with the right songs. If nothing else they can throw in the less popular artists in as DLC.

I love Beatmania. But the fact that there's more to do in Beatmania that ISN'T scratch focused than in DJ Hero is the problem. DJ Hero is all about the scratching. With only 3 buttons (on the turntable no less) they can't do anything that deviates from scratching for too long like Beatmania can.

I'd also love to see more DLC for these games. I completely understand why it's so expensive, but it's so expensive! c:

Nope. Still won't believe it. And no DJ I've ever met has ever used that term. Most 'Electronica' music sits under a smaller subgenre that people use because Electronica is such a vague, blanket term.

Wiki: (Yeah, it's Wiki)
Electronica includes a wide range of contemporary electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, including foreground listening, some forms of dancing, and background music for other activities; however, unlike electronic dance music, it is not specifically made for dancing

A genre that can be used for ANY KIND OF LISTENING, and is for both DANCING and NOT DANCING. That is the most vague thing I've ever heard in my life, and considering a ton of Electronic music can't be danced to, I'd say this term is pretty useless.
