but the iPhone Final Fantasy played like shit... And that was an NES port.
I really wish they put this on DS or DSiWare.

@MNC Dover I'm also getting tired of this crap. Sonic The Hedgehog 4 is also doing the same thing when it should come out to a REAL PORTABLE gaming platform such as the DS or the PSP.

Hmm, I've yet to feel truly immersed in an iPhone game...it's a platform I prefer for the quick distractions, and my 3GS battery is bad enough without a game running for extended periods too. Perhaps these are points that have been made many times before.

A LOT of developers are ignoring the PSP/DS in favor of iPhone.
Yes, there was the massive 3DS 3rd party list today, but many of the Japanese devs and A LOT of the Western devs are putting a lot more effort into Apple. Makes me sad. :/

Very much a heartbreaker. I really hate the iPhone for this reason.

The 3GS has a more powerful graphics chip than what's in the PSP. iPhone 4 will increase this power even further.
The FF1 port sucked because square's port sucked, not because the iPhone is incapable of playing 3D games. There are several PS1 type games that run just fine on the iPhone.

Crazy. Wanna know what's even more crazy? I bought the actual game on ebay about.. five or six years ago for 40 bucks. It's actually sitting right in front of me next to my SNES. =D

Now that my jaw has been picked up off the floor...
Okay, guys? I know Apple's one step short of Activision around here in terms of companies that are less respectable than Satan, but if you turn off the hater-vision for a moment and take a look at other iPhone games Square Enix has produced-- FFTA2 Crystal Defenders, Space Invaders Infinity Gene-- you'll notice that most of them got ported to other systems later on. So politely cast Mute upon yourselves and wait your turn.
That said, even as an iPhone owner-- making me double the fanboy here in that my 2010 goal is to collect every Squaresoft release up to and including the PS1 stuff-- this is a bad idea. Even with the new display, the controls are too complex for a mere touchscreen.

One word (or 3)... LOL This game just don't need any port or remake. It only needs to be played as before. Video games are really going anywhere since this wave of ports and remakes. The money they make with these ports is only used to make other ports so its like an endless circle of old games and nothing new.

I'm okay with ports of older games. How else are people going to be able to experience them? I don't have a SNES anymore, and would like a way to play this game again.
You don't have to buy it.
