What would count as less than cautiously optimistic? Well, I'm far below that. Is it possible they've done TOO much damage to the Sonic name that I can't even get wishful that it might be decent?

Sega...(sigh) really turning off life support is the most humane thing to do right now.

I wonder... If it's Sonic Colors, does that imply a redshift change due to Sonic running fast?

It sucks because it's 3D. 2D or nothing.

The "Boss in a central platform, character running around" thing was also in Sonic Rush. It's pretty impressive how they "lifted the gimmick" from a game released in the future.

The sad truth is that there will never be a Sonic game that the longtime core fans will like. It's been in vogue for so long to hate Sonic games that it's now ingrained and no one can recognize when a good one comes along.

Sega can never win because those critical gamers want an IDEAL, not a game. If Sega published a straight 2D, no extra characters, no talking Sonic game tomorrow, everyone would still hate it because it couldn't possibly make them feel as good as nostalgia can.

And that's not to say this game won't suck; it might, I don't know. But the point is that, even if the game is great, it still won't get the critical response it deserves.

I don't know. Sonic 4's trailer certainly stirred up some nostalgia in me.

And so did Donkey Kong Country and Kirby today. And Megaman 9 when it came out. I think the problem for Sega is that they haven't really been trying anything to make people fulfill that nostalgia feeling...as well as being able to make a competent game. I'm pretty sure it's not that hard. Other companies can do it, obviously.

Sega just needs to actually put effort in making Sonic feel like it did in the good old days. And as far as I've seen, they really haven't MUCH until Sonic 4 and Colors appear to be doing.

I actaully liked the one with the warehog but didn't buy it because it isn't worth the price. It should be an XBLA game.

I've never really been a Sonic fan, so I'm just left feeling really sympathetic towards the hardcore fans' cause. That said, there's nothing stopping me from enjoying a good Sonic game when one comes around. I thought Sonic Rush Adventure was pretty tight, but that wasn't 3D. This would could be cool, but it's definitely not going on the "must buy" list any time soon.
