Journey: the third PSN game from thatgamecompany
35
thatgamecompany, best known for flOw and Flower, has rather covertly announced another PSN exclusive. Journey follows the footsteps of its predecessors, offering "simple gameplay and accessible controls."
Unlike thatgamecompany's previous offerings, however, Journey is an "online adventure experience" that has players encountering strangers. According to the press release, traveling with others will "re-shape the experience -- creating authentic moments that they will remember and discuss with others."
It sounds a lot like Chat Roulette, doesn't it? The Journey begins on PS3 in 2011.
[Thanks, Stan K.!]

Except Journey won't have a penis shoved in your face every 30 seconds... hopefully.
Also, I know it'll probably have custom soundtrack support, but I wanna listen to Journey while playing Journey.

Not yet, but I will when this comes out. That, and maybe a little Wheel In The Sky.

Hanging with strangers turned friends in what looks like an endless desert? That actually sounds interesting, I just hope a dune worm will try to attack us every now and again.

Why the hell wasn't this at Sony's keynote? Don't they realize that thatgamecompany is on par with Kojima as far as creativity is concerned? Didn't they have faith that thatgamecompany's game would have garnered a respectable amount of attention? Screw the Move, I would've loved to heard about this instead.

This sounds boring. I bought both flOw and Flower based on the hype, and I think I played both about five minutes, then never touched them again.

So you bought one game based on hype, played it for 5 minutes, decided you didn't like it, then bought the second game, played it for 5 minutes, decided you didn't like it, then finally decided to come into a post about their third game and tell us how you don't like it before any concrete details have even been revealed?
... And yes that was one giant sentence.

It wasn't like Flower was a sequel to flOw. I had several people recommend Flower to me even after I told them I barely played flOw, and of course I bought it and didn't like it. Based on that, I'll assume anything thatgamecompany makes that seems to have similar asthesics will be boring.

You know, I had a lot of people tell me that Windows ME was terrible, and I actually tried it once, and it was pretty bad. Then I had a bunch of people tell me that Vista was terrible, and it really seemed like that. And they weren't exactly alike either.
So I decided that every Windows OS ever made is just bad simply because 2 of them were bad. Anytime Windows makes an OS and it looks like a Windows OS I know it's going to be bad and boring.

You know you just replied to yourself.. right?
Also, you should append "for me at least" at the end of your last comment. Quite a lot of people love their stuff and think it's amazing. I for one think it's more interesting and worthy of a sequel than a game like Modern Warfare 2. :\

These people haven't made a bad game. All three so far are great. This one HAS to be just as good.
