I am not impressed by the game's dialog; is there really a need for the vulgarity?

That was the funniest part, if the dialogue is like that through the rest of the game then this will be one of the funniest games ever.

@Maine82 So vulgarity is fine, as long as it's a Cliffy B game?

What about everyone who complained about the profanity in Killzone 3? That wasn't ok?

It seems like both games are about on par with how creative the vulgarity is.

So what's the difference?

Also you're ripping people apart and pumping them full of bullets, not to mention electrocuting and exploding them.

Since when is vulgarity the problem?

Simulated violence does not bother me as that is what it is, simulated. However profane language in any form is still profane to me. GoW gave us the option to shut it off which is a great option.

Call me what you'd like, it won't change my feelings on the subject.

I can understand that some may not like swearing in games, even if they are full of violence. Just like I don't care for nudity in games, even though they have violence.

I don't know why people here always think they trump a complaint about something by pointing out the violence. Last I checked, tv is full of violence and not full of swearing and nudity. So, maybe some folks are entitled to not be so comfortable with each sort of offense in front of family and such, even though you may be comfortable with it.

"is there really a need for the vulgarity?"

I don't think it's meant to impress. And no, it's nit necessary, but that's the picture the devs wanted to paint! Or the picture that the publishers are paying the devs to paint. Who knows. There might be an option to turn it off. That Jack Black game had the option.

Well it looks like SOMEBODY had their dick scared off.

Just kidding. I'm right there with you. Just because the developers are givig the game an over the top feel doesn't mean we should excuse the truly terrible dialogue.

There's a right way and a wrong way to do something over the top. The right way is the movie, "Airplane". The wrong way would be, "Epic Movie".

You said, "quit contributing to the pussification of America and the rest of the world" because Maine82 questioned the "need for the vulgarity" in Bulletstorm.

It's true most games have some vulgarity, but if Maine82 happens not to like it, it is moronic for you to say that he is "contributing to the pussification of America".

I don't have an issue with a majority of the "language" used in this game. It's for the most part entertaining. Although the term "gang bang" is pretty inappropriate. I really don't like how the term is trivialized in this case. I'd be interested in knowing how some women feel about this.

the length of that Demo concerns me... was it so short because they don't want people to realize that is the entire bag of tricks? I really want this game to be good, and I like Epic. But I worry it will be gimmicky and not be able to hold the fun value to long.

The action looked pretty good, but thing that sold me about Bulletstorm was the so-bad-they're-hilarious Duke Nukem-esque one-liners delivered by none other than Steve Blum. The whole thing looks like an elaborate parody of contemporary FPS cliches, and the fact that it is made by People Can Fly, the same guys who made Painkiller, seems to affirm this idea.

Painkiller, best arcade FPS of the last generation. Bulletstorm....best arcade FPS of this generation.

They practically have the genre on a lock.
