My main issue with this game is that stealth runs and weapon/item collection are what gives mgs replay value and challenge. But the slicing might make up for it.
Also the beefed up frog prototype is awesome.

I can't wait to hear what you consider a "real" Metal Gear Solid title to be. For all you know, this title will have plenty of mullets, bandanas, chain-smoking, codec conversations, and sneaking. It's too early to tell what exactly Kojima has planned.
For all we know, Raiden could pull a Snake ala MGS2 and only be playable for the first chapter, paving the way for some new character or (in a *shocking* twist) Snake himself.

Considering Kojima "passed the torch" to one of his underlings for this game, coupled with how over the top all of the anime-swordplay is, I'm not exactly sure if I'll be getting this one.
Hopefully in future previews we'll find out the game isn't just anime and swords.

This was really, really impressive. I've never played the Metal Gear games because by the time i was aware of them, it seemed pointless to start then with the huge depth of the story. But man, those watermelons! Guess i'm just gonna have to beat all of them now.

This game doesn't look nearly as good as MGS4. Maybe it is just Raiden that spoils it for me. After MGS4, I hate that character. He turned into such a whiny little *****. He was cool in MGS2 when he was pretty much just trying to be Snake.
I've never been let down by a Metal Gear Solid game but this one has got me worried.

Couldn't care any less about this game if I tried. I just want a PSP and Peace Walker. Not MGS meets Ninja Gaiden. Raiden is the shit, but I never wanted to play as him, just watch him kill fools in MGS4 which was an awesome game.

Because with the limitations of our control inputs a cutscene will be able to show Raiden cutting up fools better then I would be able to play him as. Plus I don't want *that* much of Raiden, just enough to remind me how ridiculous the MGS world is and how awesome he is as a ninja-like character.
