Extended Demo?

@Masker13 I don't think that we can call this a demo at all. Demos have always been a slice of the original game. This is something new, completely. It';s story is new, but it showcases the gameplay and graphics. Our progress carries over. No demo has done this before (hyperbole, there might be some).

This is a Demilogue? Demo + Prologue. Demogue. Prevo? Preview + Demo.

I can't wait for this game... I loved the original Dead Rising, a perfect blend of action, horror and comedy. I just hope this and Dead Rising 2 won't be too hard, the difficulty curve was a bit steep, especially towards the end and it kept me from ever really beating the game.

@MystileArmor Did you make it to level 50? It shouldn't have been that hard at that level. But I do recall the boss fight at the end being a bit tricky.

@MystileArmor I hear that. I ended up just running around until I got bored. Not only that but my save games once I got around to the underground area where the guy is in a van, disappeared not only once but twice. I got frustrated with that part so I think I would just get away from the xbox and quit. I guess it made the save game disappear. Hopefully with Co-op it will be easier. Because I just want to kill zombies and have fun.

Sweet! I've been wanting more news on this. With Dead Rising 2's release date of August 31st fast approaching (if it hasn't changed), then I'd think they'd want this out by around the end of July

Sorry this is actualy unrelated, but that screenshot reminded me. I haven't seen any news for RAGE or anything else from id software. Are they even at E3?

@CaramelZappa I think I remember seeing some tweets about it. It was behind closed doors only.

@CaramelZappa There was a lot of Rage playthrough and interviewing on G4. There were a couple different id reps on the live stage at different times. Rage looks a lot better than I thought it would. Intense!

@(Unverified) Exactly. Maybe that's how the game plays out - he goes into the gas station with Shelley, and the next scene is him going in with Katey. It's a metaphor for our constantly shifting identities, man.

DAMNIT!

I don't know if I actually read it, or just made it up because I wanted to believe it, but I thought for sure Case Zero was supposed to feature Frank. I'm disappointed now...

But will still get this and the full game, because I'm quick to forgive.

So it's a demonstration of the game play and graphics, which is a demo.

Valve did something similar to this with the original Half-Life. The scenario in the demo was not to be found in the final version of the game at all. I like it when studios let you carry over something from the demo to the full version, too.

Fantastic news! DEAD RISING was the game that I missed the most when I traded in my 360 for a PS3. Now with the new whisper quiet 360, DR2:C0 and DR2 being released, it's a no-brainer.... or should I say, "BRAAAAINZ!"

While this is an interesting concept, I would rather they still continue to do free demos in the future. Sometimes I just want to try the game before forking over money for it

I'm not interested in the main game, but for some reason I'm interested in this just because it's an XBLA game. Strange.

The original Dead Rising was across 3 days, which totaled 6 real-time hours. If this prequel is anything near that, we're looking at about a 1 hour long game.

I was hoping for at least a 1 day (in-game) long game, but considering I played the original game over 6 times, the length isn't really that much of an issue other than the fact that whether we'll actually get to DO much in each playthrough.

Still, looking forward to this and hoping it's both true to the original's feel and priced right.

@(Unverified) Yes, that is what I am replying to. Each day in the original DR was 2 hours, which means this 12 in-game hour demo means a 1 hour real time game.

@(Unverified) They did that with Pub Games for Fable 2 (Not Capcom, I know, but at least it set a precedent). So it's not 100% out of the question, but still probably unlikely. We can hope. I like free things.

I think the truely sad thing about this great game series, for PS3 owners at least, is the fact that the first game along with case zero are not going to be released for the PS3. If you want the full Dead Rising story you'll have to bite the bullet and buy a 360. I'm seriously considering it if the slim version turns out to not have as many hardware faults as the original. Though MS's removal of the red light seems like a total smoke and mirrors play...

I know I'll incur some fanboy wrath for that, but why else would they remove it?

So this is releasing on XBLA right? Therefore it should have a Demo mode right? Free trial download? Here's hoping Capcom does it right! 400-800 MS Points or no sale.

I'd really like to see more games demo'd in this way. Rather than play something in a demo and replay it when you get the full game, you get to experience the game's mechanics, but no the finished version's experience.

in case zero you can receive achievements and can level up to level 10. the information above may be correct but ive heard from my friend at e3 that he asked inafune and he said 10. it is positively confirmed for achievements case zero will be from 200 to 560 microsoft points. it is only singleplayer sadly. there is around 2 hours of gameplay if all u do is missions ans not die. but thats not fun. there are combo cards to increase pp from combo weapons that u can make in case zero. but if u want to just experiment and create stuff without the combo cards yu find around you will be rewarded with a "scratch card". scratch cards give a bit more pp but not as much as combo cards.
