The crazy concept -- and, in fact, the entire game design -- comes from the mind of Shinta Nojiri, a veteran Konami designer and the director of the Metal Gear Ac!d titles. We'd say he's lost his head, but Nojiri would probably find it, pop it back on and glare at us disapprovingly. Instead, we'll just point you toward the trailer after the break.
You'll lose your head over this NeverDead media
26
Revealed during today's Konami press conference, NeverDead looks like something that might have originated from the makers of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta -- but it's actually the work of UK-based Rebellion, the studio most recently responsible for Aliens vs. Predator. Its star is an immortal, gun-toting, wise-cracking gunslinger with the unusual ability to literally pull himself together if dismembered.

Okay. The picture of the hero's head with arms and legs coming out of it that are firing guns has made me excited for this game, and I know nothing about it. Stoked.

The video isn't available but from the text it sounds a tiny bit like Hellsing.
Which is a good thing.
I really hope they make a Hellsing game oneday.. That would be sweet.

Konami's Press Conference was by far the most enjoyable one of E3 this year.
It was so freaking hilarious:

For all those looking for the missing Joystiq trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDLUfrVmf7k
I love the concept for this game, I'm suprised it wasn't thought of sooner, it got me thinking, if you wanted to see what was in another room but couldn't get into the tight areas, detatch your hand and one of your eye balls, attach them together, and control the hand independently. Now you can see everything in the next rooms before you enter.
Thats just the tip of the iceberg of things I could think of doing. When I talk about innovative ideas in gaming, this is it ^^

I dunno, and I'd hate to play the skeptic, but it kinda seems gimmic-y to me.
Reserving judgement until more features announced.

I don't know about everyone else, but some of these photos with the bodies breaking apart in the same segmented sections every time looks pretty cheesy.
I like the idea but if it's a case of "Oh, my arm completely broke off at my shoulder again. Good thing it never breaks off at the elbow!" then I think I'll pass for now.

I kinda like it.
They seem to be putting some detail into it and thinking things through.
Little things like the double aims and the never dead thing that seems like more than just a respawn mechanic.
And I don't know about atmosphere but the characters at least had charisma, the guy was cool and funny and I liked the girls design.
