@Dr Acula: I like how they're not taking the "Mega Man" approach to his powers (loosing all your abilities in the next game). It should make for tougher enemies and a better game.

And oh, Lightening Tornados

I'll wait and see about Cole's new persona... it's jarring in its difference from the first game, but I'll give the new Cole a fair chance to grow on me.

I'm really looking forward to the game... but honestly, one of the things that does make me anxious is all this emphasis on denser crowds and more destruction. It was hard enough in the first not to fry innocent bystanders by accident! Staying on the good path meant really having to rein in your powers a lot... and while I appreciate the "realism" of that, it got kind of frustrating.

My hope here is that at least the crowd AI will be improved. Can't tell you how many moronic civilians I accidentally killed because they ran right into the midst of all the explosions and lightning going on. Is it too much to ask that they run away from the carnage? C'mon, Sucker Punch... let's have the citizens of New Marais possess a stronger set of survival instincts than the clods from Empire City. I'm tryin' to be a hero here.

@(Unverified) What I liked about Cole's old look (after seeing this) was that it could look both good and evil. Mean looking with a good heart, or mean and pure evil. With his new look he either look like a classic charming dude like we have all seen before, he looks like a nice dude. If he goes bad now, he will just be a douche, not evil, just douche.

But I will give it a chance.

apparently he reverts to an appearance similar to what he looked like in the first game if you choose the path of evil.

I really don't like his new voice actor. Maybe it's just that it's different, but the voice kinda grated my nerves just in this video...

I don't like the complete overhaul, changing voice acter, ok I can understand the need for that to happen sometimes.
but this new cole looks nothing like the old one, its not even that they took the old Cole and gave him hair....they completely changed his face! looks like Nathan Drake now, so boring.

First of all, Nathan Drake is awesome.

Second of all, I think the overhaul is needed. The voice actor in the first game did not mix well with the character - how did this parkour-loving delivery boy end up with such gravel for a voice? Effects of the electricity? It'd be nice to tell us that. No, we are supposed to assume he'd lived his post-pubescent life sounding like a hardened marine with a 60 pack year history of smoking. No thanks, iit just didn't make sense.

Last of all, I don't really care what they do with the character as long as the game is good. Like I said, I thought the character didn't make sense in the first game at all and it was still my favorite game of the year until Uncharted 2 came out.

ya nathan drake IS awesome. Redesigning your main protagonist to look like another game's protagonist isn't awesome. Cole had cool unique look before wasn't all pretty-boy. now he looks like a generic, tattooed, date-rapist douchebag.

@Kid Icarus

I don't really care what he *looks* like, I thought he was fine in the first and I think this new model is mostly fine as well - what I do think is an improvement is the voice acting. In my mind it fits better. If it doesn't work for you that's unfortunate.

And my comment about Nathan Drake was supposed to be lighthearted; pretty sure he doesn't need my defense.

So looking forward to this. I hope they haven't changed the music in this, keeping it the same style, because that was just awesome and unique soundtrack.

I also hope this game has the same jump in quality as Uncharted had between 1 and 2, even so, I think we're in for an awesome game!

...hope they go back to old Cole. I might have to pass on this otherwise... just kind of kills the story for me, to completely redefine the character for no reason other then "market studies".... I don't want to watch another Rambo movie if they recast him with Jeanne Claude Van Damme....

I'll admit, The gruff voice from the first game didn't bother me at all, and the new style/voice will be something i have to get used to, but as long it's fun to play and the story is decent, i'm gonna get it.
Why would you let a few changes keep you from playing an overall good game?

@Vegna

It's not a minor change, it's pretty huge. This isn't Hollywood, we aren't limited by "real" people, so we shouldn't ever have to do a "recast"... it's completely breaks my immersion... it might as well be a completely different game with similar mechanics.

@Noksukow

Alright, based on that explanation I can ALMOST get behind it... aside from the fact that the future him looked similar, and the past him looked similar... but I'll try to think of it that way from now on.

But his personality completely changed too. That's pretty hard to make up an excuse for... I know "people change" and all that, but still.

One thing I didnt understand is that in the first game, Cole was bald, and so is Kessler. Why does Cole have hair in this game? For those who don't know what I'm talking about, play the game first.

The first guy's voice was better.

Also, will you be able to import your save, or choose between the good/evil origins? Both the backstory and Cole's starting powers would affected by your choices in the first game.

Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to this one too, actually. Maybe you just get a menu at the beginning to choose whether you're good or evil, or some sort of choice during the intro to the game.

When i was playing the first inFamous I was like: WoW, this game is fun.. but... just fun and nothing more, the choices were too obvious the sid quests were too repetitive, the way to get power was too repetitive, but it was fun anyways.

Until I got to the end.

Then I put down my controller, baffled at the screen and just said: WOW.

This game made from a fun game to one of the most awesome story telling experiences in ONE CUTSCENE.

And now I'm sold forever on this franchise.

I can't wait for the opening cutscene in this, from what we know about the setting for this game it'll be awesome, also good spot on the multiplayer, even though it was already hinted at by SP hiring a netcoder for the game.

I hope we get answers about the whereabouts of Sasha and Alden, I hope they reform or at least Sasha does.

Yeah, I hope not. I really don't think this game needs multiplayer, and I really don't want it - might take the focus away from the singleplayer. Still, could be cool. We'll have to see, I guess.

It's not a grammatical anomaly. The title inFAMOUS refers to the fact that you can chose to be infamous or famous (hence the lowercase in and the capital FAMOUS) .

So it looks like Cole gets ice powers as well this time around. And wow, he really looks different, a lot like Nathan Drake. At least it's not Nolan North doing the voice acting. As much as I like the guy, that'd just be too much. :P

There was something else I wanted to say, but no idea what it was now. Oh well. :P

I bought the first game (used) earlier this year on a whim, not keeping my hopes too high since I hadn't heard much about it. Man was I impressed. I'm pretty jazzed for the sequel, especially since it looks like they're significantly upping the game play.

@Vertimyst: I didn't take the ice in the preview to be that Cole gained ice powers, I thought one of his new adversaries has it. Am I off? Either way, ice sounds like a fun addition or challenge to electricity.

well, it looked like Cole was controlling the ice, and if you noticed the 2 in the title was made of ice. plus, him going "then again, maybe some things change" is supposed to insinuate that it is Cole with ice powers.

Which, since I think The Beast has fire powers could become very interesting.

I'd really rather not play as Nathan Drake with lightning powers. I like cole's new threads, but he could at least get a less Drake-like hairstyle and douche-stubble.
That said, this is still the sequel to the best action game on the PS3 (God of War fans can hate me, but this is just my personal opinion) and I will still be picking it up day 1.

@Noksukow I don't so much hate that he changed.... I hate that he changed to look EXACTLY like Nathan Drake. The old voice was cool, but this one isn't different enough to bother me much. just.... give him a different hairsyle. or color. or something. make him look less like that one guy from that game.

my annoyance is that it doesn't look very much like him. and from what it sounds like, it doesn't even sound very much like him.

Now you can get over sound issues. the first ratchet and clank game had the actor replaced, and i thought the series was better for it. but i am skeptical of replacing this guy.

And still, can't the face look more like him?

Also exit question. now, you say you have all your old power from the original? including the ones tied to your good or evil? indeed, are you going to carry over your morality score.

And on a related note, i hope the morality system is tweeked a little. choosing good or evil is always fun, but the game only rewarded you for being super evil or super good. if you were somewhere in between, you suffered. i would love to see the system allow for more ambiguous levels of good or evil and still reward you.
