This looks like a lot of fun. The moderation seems like it might be a bit of a pain at times, but i totally understand why the are implementing it.

I wonder if they might eventually have different areas/servers/etc with different levels of moderation for different age groups?

Viva la LEGO! The "original" PlayCreateShare. (Note, I know LEGO is not the original).

@Fromps

Good call! Didn't think about that. I was using Safari, but gave it a go with Firefox and it looks like it worked. Thanks!

In other news, the links I get via email when someone replies to my comment now show the comment thread (before it was a blank page), but that is all they show. no way to reply to the comment within that page. getting better futurestiq, but you still have a long way to go...

Is it suitable for man children, though?

So this isn't a Traveler's Tales game? Interesting... ten dollars is a little steep for a monthly charge but I guess this would be better than, say, Team Penguins or NeoPets.

Well folks, it looks like you're stuck with me now that I've been banned from Kotaku. I probably should consider looking into Destructoid again too...

My only real question is: can I build a castle on wheels, and drive it around (and fire cannons from it)?

I was in the beta. I'm 24. It was not fun.

I'm still young enough at heart that I could have fun with real Legos. Unfortunately, this felt more like a really simple normal MMO than it did a building-centric game. I had high hopes that this would be the first non-branded Lego game where you actually build stuff often, but it's just not that. It's like... World of Legocraft. Except, minus the "craft" portion.

It will probably be fun for their demographic, if they aren't already playing WoW.

I was in the same boat. I really enjoyed Lego Starwars, so I thought I'd give this a try. After the third area (the giant mountain), the game just got really stale, tedious, and boring. It just wasn't fun.

Oh, and my name was denied after the third day... it was Pedro Lopez. I guess Lego doesn't care for Latinos.

I'll let you take a look at the thread (if I can post it here) and you can come to your own conclusions. I'm ManekiNeko, naturally.

http://kotaku.com/comment/24724513/

Basically, Crecente posted some drivel about LeVar Burton being "grumpy" and "not pleased" with E3, and I called his integrity into question for 1) Making assumptions with no basis in reality and 2) Posting something on a video game blog that has nothing to do with video games. After pressing the issue, I was thrown out the door. No disciplinary action, just a quick knock on the head with the banhammer.

I don't know how much smack I'm allowed to talk about competitors here, but I'll just say that I'm not satisfied with Kotaku's current direction. The blog has been massively irresponsible lately and I just couldn't stay silent about it any longer. The writers don't want to act like professionals, writing fluff pieces with sensationalist lead-ins meant solely to drive up viewership, yet they want all the perks normally reserved for professionals. It doesn't work that way... if you want to be treated like a pro, act like one.

Joystiq may not be the most exciting blog out there, but it's by and large honest, and the writers do conduct themselves in a professional manner. That's why I'll be getting most of my news here from this point forward. I suspect that in the very near future, reports from Kotaku are going to have all the credibility of a story on Batboy in the Weekly World News.

Yeah, I just decided that with this latest patch, I'm done and a little angry now. It's obvious the main part of the game's been done up to keep the kids grinding for as long as possible. Whee! Collect 60,000 penny studs and a couple dozen 10% drop badges to get your next gear set (which is actually terrible and will easily get you killed). I just wish I could uninstall it and get my HD space back, but my little brother's in the beta and he's been using my computer to play. -.-

I never even got to the free building part because to get bricks and models, you have to fight mobs to get random drops or studs to buy them. This is damn hard to do when everything past the first world WILL one-shot you. Frustrating as hell now.
