150 with a bundled game is fine. The price will lower over time.

Plus, I'm sure they'll have a bundle for people new to Xbox 360. I'm not even worried about that.

However, what I do worry about is if Kinectamals (as it was shown) is a $60 title. I can't see that having enough content for that price.

Anyways, I want a second xbox so I welcome any announcements for bundles later this year. I would pay $399 for a Xbox 360 S/Kinect bundle.

If I were a retailer, I'd start taking orders at an "estimated price" of $130. Imagine how many preorders I could rake in, because my price was less! (Sure, it might *actually* be $150, but then I just point to "estimated" and collect the final $20 when it comes out.)

I don't think it'll be that expensive. It can't be, or people (especially "casuals") won't get it, not when they can get a Move for less or a whole Wii for a little more.

Microsoft sure isn't doing themselves any favors by withholding the price, though. The longer they let this retail guess sit there as the only semi-official, public price, the longer it has to cement in people's minds as "overpriced extra gadget". When they announce the correct price, even if it turns out to be dirt cheap, it'll have to overcome that preconception, and it'll take longer for the "truth" to change the minds of the "casuals" who are typically less informed (or at least less up-to-the-minute) on game information.

If you got the cam, Move is $5 less per person then the Wii.

150 for potentially 4 players. Sounds like a good deal to me.

If you think about it, with the price for the pre-order at 150 and MS actually drop it to 100 or cheaper, that actually would spur people on the fence to purchase the device.

Maybe just maybe if it came with a multiple game pack-in and it wasn't a broken janky inaccurate mess then it'd be worth it.

Between them stripping out some of the internals and it being overpriced and it not working as well as advertised this is going to be a messy failure of a launch.

Kinect is overpriced, Move is overpriced, and a full Wii Motion Plus setup is overpriced. Motion controls simply aren't for frugal gamers who require accuracy. (despite them being mildly fun at times while drunk at parties)

There's a difference between this and the wireless adapter. Some people can't or won't run network cable around the house.

I normally buy everything. I have every console and handheld and a Ipod Touch. But I'm not feeling it with this. I am just not sold. I think it will be great for parents with younger kids and there may be some good stuff for guys my age but I haven't seen it yet. I do like the menu stuff but not for 150.00. I do kinda like the Move, but so far only 1 or 2 games have slightly caught my attention.

Of course I reserve the right to change my mind if a killer Kinect app comes along.

Hardcore gamers were saying that $250 was too much for the Wii when it launched because they expected the Wii to be $199. You guys have to realize you're clueless about this stuff when it comes to the casual games market.

Pre-orders for Kinect are going through the roof. Check Gamestop's best sellers and Amazon. The device is going to sell out completely at $150. Microsoft would be insane to charge anything less for Kinect at this point. They will have opportunities for price drops and bundles in the future. Right now you milk the product while it's hot especially when you're going to be supply constrained for the launch.

Kinect Sports and Dance Central seem to be getting tons of preorders even with a $60 price tag. 4 months before launch Kinect Sports is already in the top 40 selling games on Amazon. It's doing better than Gran Turismo 5. That means Kinect Sports is going to sell like gangbusters. Dance Central looks like it could even be the next Guitar Hero. Think about how much people are paying for Guitar Hero and Rock Band, then Kinect with a bundled game doesn't seem very expensive anymore.

@cool8man

that's interesting, I hadn't seen that on amazon, that those two games were already selling. I'm curious. Has a game ever been "short" on supply at launch? Thing is, I preordered the kinect on amazon probably an hour after it went live, but I didn't order any games. I figured I could pick them up in store when i saw more previews/reviews/scores on them.

The only "game" i know of being short on supply is the wii fit, but that had a hardware peripheral, arguably harder to produce en masse.

Regular games on DVD are easy to press and manufacture, so I wouldn't expect it, but I didn't know the demand was already so high.

$100 with a pack in sports/mini game collection of some sort? I can *kinda* see that with the $100 Move bundle that has the Move, the PS Eye, and Sports Champions. But $150? What a joke. This thing is never gonna take off.

I don't get why everyone is all about Kinetic vs. Move thing, yea them both are move sense things but come on. These things are targeted towards the causal audience. If this thing is priced at 150$ then the move isn't going to kill this. The thing that is going to kill this, is the exact thing this thing is trying to kill.

-----The Wii.....

Right now the Wii is priced at 199$, whos to say Nintendo is going to keep the price at 199$?? I doubt they will, come Sept. a Price Drop will Occur and the Wii will sell for 150$.

Now do more people know what a kinetic is over a Wii? Uh I think not, even with a billion dollar advertising project from Microsoft will do that.

I know I can use the existing controllers as the Chuck... I don't think I will.

Looking at the button/stick configuration I've been trying to figure out how that would possibly work... and can't really find it. Sure it may be technically possible, I just don't think it'll be Practical.

So back to $210 for the Move cost of Entry... and we still don't know if Kinect comes with software.

fail, microsoft first takes out the processer to lower natals price and its still overpriced.they should have just left in the processer just to justify a $150 price tag.

Primarily its here to sell new 360 hardware, so its the bundle price that'll make the difference

though this isn't a good sign.

"...pack-in details are not yet determined."

Sounds like at least a game could be included. This would make $150 a little easier to swallow, but I think the cost of Kinect should be subsidized a bit to secure profits from future game sales - by putting more Kinect sensors out there, they are guaranteeing more game sales, which is where the money's at.

I agree you may end paying more to have the full move experience, but it's important to remember that with move you still have a choice on how far you want to go, single wand game or add the navigator, just a single controller for the household or buy additional controllers, while with kinect it's the 150$ price tag even if you will end up rarely playing with anybody else, another factor that the line-up of games for move seems more attractive than kinect right now
