You RACIST BIGOTTED idiot.. You seriously have no idea what is going on where and you keep running your mouth.. We dont give a crap about your has to be built in the USA, USA no. 1 rubbish rhetoric..
For your information software is built all over the world.. Games like LBP2 is created in the UK not USA, Software is built worldwide..
Also just to correct your dumb self, most software nowadays is off-shored to indian/chinese development teams, by American companies. Microsoft is notorious of doing stuff like that so again please just shut up and sit back in your corner..
Need I remind you Konami = Japanese.. The same Hideo Kojima you mention in your post is Japanese and last I checked MGS4 and Peace Walker absolutely pwned..
Nintendo Japanese, again by your dumb ass racist ruling Nintendo must also suck and so does all of their games and software..
Funny how the NXE is basically the same design as the XMB, but scrolling vertically rather than horizontally and funny how the new interface for Kinect is the channels interface direct copy from Nintendo..
Also for your information The XMB has won an Emmy for its brilliant design..
"The interface won the Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for "Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Best Use of Personal Media Display and Presentation Technology" in 2006.[4]" -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XrossMediaBar
You keep on talking about something you have absolutely no clue about..

Very good interview. Glad to know Sony is really listening.
When Koller said chat is available in some games, what did he mean by that? What did he mean by that? He couldn't have meant cross game chat (that wouldn't make sense) and voice chat is available in a lot more than SOME games.
Also I thought this cross game chat thing was faked because it was never mentioned on the release details on the PS Blog. What is going on with that?

I agree with Jakinov to a point...but i also agree with Anticrawl also! You both have a good point!! I think it depends on the Mission Statement of that particular company! Look at Google and the Android phones....they are the worst when it comes to updates also and they are an American Company as you say!! SO it depends!!
Posted: Jun 19th 2010 1:00AM McDuckScrooged said
@DF334 -- you use a games website to talk about smart phones ?
I happen to have an Android phone and the platform is one of the best and I absolutely love the OS. Both iPhone and Android are incredibly good and both of them are far better than any other smart phones on the market..
As far as updates are concerned, considering how diverse the Android hardware and market support is , the updates are actually brilliant.. In about 2 years the Android phones have beaten practically every other mobile platform in terms of functionality.. Android works on practically every handset and has to support multiple architectures.. In comparison the iPhone works on only Apple Phones and there has been 3 apple phones released so far with the 4th being released shortly.
There is probably over 50 different handsets running Android already,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Android_devices
When you take that into account then you have to realise the difficulties in updating the platform.. The issues is not with Google where updates are concerned, but rather with the Handset Manufacturer to tweak the updates for their platform.. Even considering that, the software is absolutely awesome..

Fantastic interview. I still think they're pricing and game availability is ridiculous for the GO.
Also, I need some more info on what exactly is provided with PSN + before I decide whether or not to spend $50 on it. Something they mentioned during the press conference struck me as strange. I thought I heard them say that you will only own the things you download with PSN+ for only as long as you're a plus member. Does that mean if I download something from PSN+ and my subscription runs out, I no longer have access to it? Does that include things like PS ONE games? Demos? Movies? If that's the case, there's no way in hell I'm committing to this subscription for life.

You wont lose anything you purchase, you will lose the freebies thrown into the + subscription...
Im not getting + dont need it, dont want it..

First let me say, nice interview guys!
Second if I ran SCEA (or SCEE) it would go a little something like this:
PSN + ($49.99 - $59.99 per year)
Discounts
Early Access To Betas
Free PSN Game (choose from 3) per month
Cloud Game Saves/Trophies (Be able to use your saves/earn trophies when signed into other PS3's)
HULU Native App on XMB(subscription included when they go to pay service)
QORE
Faster PSN Downloading
Free Wallpapers/Avatars
Netflix Native App on XMB
If they did that, I would be willing to bet MOST "hardcore" gamers would jump on it. As it stands now...its pretty lame.
As for FIRMWARE UPDATES:
Cross Game Chat
Automatic installs for downloads
More in-depth/Customization of Player Profiles (Lots of slick mock-ups online)
Better organization of media (Music/Videos)
New Web browser (Firefox or Google Chrome)
Auto Syncing Trophies
Cross Game Invites (I've heard this is already coming this summer)
If SONY could do these "seemingly" simple things the PS3 and PSN would (in my mind) be, without a doubt the hands down best console to own. And I would be the happiest PS3 owner in the world!!
Am I missing any major things?

So, you're actually going to get most of those things. Netfilx as native app is a no-go at the moment. And getting Hulu (while awesome) is not totally up to Sony. The lack of Hulu on other platforms has everything to do with the networks. Until they get their heads out of their butts, that isn't going to change.
But you are getting the price point you mentioned, QORE, Free Wallpapers/avatars, a free PSN game (to my knowledge they haven't detailed how that's gonna work other than if you sign up this month you get Wipeout HD), discounts, and cross game chat. Plus Steamworks!
That's a lot of stuff!

$60 a year is really not a lot of money. I'm not sure why you think you deserve 12 games plus a lot of other stuff for it. If they followed your advice PSN+ members would actually cost Sony money. They'd be begging people not to join.
Premium content is usually just that: premium. Richer people get it. Kind of like at the airport: you spend $20,000 a year flying, and you get permission to use their red carpet lounges, where you can sit in a nice chair for an hour while you wait for your connection, get a free $1 newspaper, and get table service, where you can spend more money on food and drink. That is a pretty bad deal for $20,000, but it's premium. The people spending $10,000 a year flying have to sit out in the crowded terminals and crappy airport bars with the plebes.

Whoa, i wasn't asking the question belligerently. I agree with you it's pretty lame, but that's because I'm probably not their target crowd. They seem to be targeting the early adopter, high-spender, beta-craver. I don't think they're trying to target everybody. If "everybody" subscribed, they probably couldn't even handle the beta key part of it. Every game would have to potentially deal with millions of beta accounts.
My only point was that your proposal sounded more expensive to Sony than $60 a year. The 12 games they're "giving away" aren't being given away, but rented out. You lose access if you don't pay. Maybe you meant that too, in which case, I agree your system would be about the same...but still, your features sounded like they're trying to appeal to as many people (not just gamers) as possible (with Hulu, etc..), and it doesn't look like Sony is trying to do that yet.
Also, as soon as you said "I didn't read the rest of your post" I stopped reading yours as well. Cheers! You probably should have put that at the end like I just did.

Good points but thats probably why game support for my Droid is decent at best as compared to my Ipod Touch. Most of the games for the Droid are the free games or .99 cent games you can get for the Iphone. There are a handful of good titles from established game houses but not even 1 percent of what comes out every week for the Iphone. I think that will change a bit down the road but not enough to make me not own at the very least an Ipod Touch to go along with my Android phone.

Yeah I know but that's only if you plan on shutting off your PS3. I use that feature but I'm talking about not having to use that feature at all and all downloads just auto-install. I've never downloaded something and decided I didn't want to install it....and even if I did I could just delete it.
I'm thinking this may be how they're OS/PSN is setup and it may be a hard work around or not possible at all.

Well to do that automatically they'd have to interrupt whatever else you were doing at the time. I'm sure that's the reason it's only available manually or before it shuts off. I don't think it's set up to allow installing while doing something else.
