MLB.TV typically requires a subscription plan to get access to live and pre-recorded games throughout the entire league; however, the service will be available for free this weekend, according to an e-mail sent to PSN members. To take advantage of the trial, you'll have to download the free app from the PlayStation Store.
@(Unverified) Screw that, they should have an app that follows football (or soccer if you like to call it that) in general, along with the World Cup, Euros, etc. I'd love to have stats on the Premier League, Spanish Primera, Italian Serie A, and all that. Hell, they can throw in a subscription to get live games and I'm sure they'll get a lot of customers. Not every game is broadcast on TV, so this would be really nice (though you can just watch the games online for free streaming on sites like Justin.tv).
no dude, thats exactly what i came here to say. For many reasons, two of which are odd. 1. Sony has a direct partnership with FIFA 2. they could have made millions if they charged .99 to download a stat tracker.
Maybe FIFA does have licensing issues as everyone always says. I heard 3 girls got arrested because they wore colors to a bar in whoknowswhere.
I was very impressed with the service. I couldn't watch my favorite team because of blackout but they are available to watch after the game is over. I was even able to go back and watch any game from any date this season. That's crazy. I want this but I think I'll wait for the discount after the All-Star break.
Just watched the vid and saw you could hide the scores, which is exactly what I wanted, but I didn't see that feature last night. I'll have to give it another shot because that was my one complaint.
Exceptional service. The only reason I didn't continue after the first month is I simply don't have that much extra time. 3-7 extra hours a day is something I just can't do at this point.
@oncrazyleafsfan Actually, it's working fine in Canada. I downloaded it yesterday. At first I was only getting playback errors, but for some unknown reason, it finally started working. It's only 16MB, so it's worth giving it a shot.
It doesn't cost anything to download and go into the application. You have to be a subscriber to the service in order to actually watch the games. That feature is whats open to everyone this weekend. After this weekend, that will only be available to subscribers again.
