Wow, it's so easy to forget how much bigger the catalog of games is going to get as the result of the new hardware in this DS!

Capcom have also confirmed those screens for Res Evil are all in-game :D From what i have heard, the graphics are better than the best on the iPhone 3GS which is powered by a 415mhz CPU and 128mb Ram. Since thats fairly close to Gamecube Spec, and this will obviously have it's own graphics chip too, i'm expecting big things. And here i was going to get a Ps3 next year.

Oh and i should add that if these are all launch titles, kudos to Nintendo for having the best launch software lineup ever.

@Foetoid The iPhone 3GS runs with 256mb RAM, the 3G ran on 128mb. I must admit though, the 3DS looks pretty sweet.

@DarXider

the best looking ones in the group look better, visually, than PSP games. RE, SSFIV, and MGS3D, specifically.

and these are just pre-launch tech demos.

And some like MGS and Res Evil look better. I think it's pretty safe to say this thing is going to be well above PSP-spec and closer to GC spec, tho the graphics will never reach GC quality since the hardware has to display in 3D too. But with the smaller screen and dense pixel format, to the human eye, it may well look as good as GC games, albeit in 3D.

@DarXider Yeah, ridge racer looks worse than the PSP version. Still, they are early and the Resident Evil and Metal Gear ones look promising. I guess it isn't too bad if the laziest graphics are some of the PSPs best. Not to mention the fancier PSP games have those damn dots everywhere for whatever reason.

Yeah, but at least the DS came with the Metroid Prime Hunters demo and played GBA games. If Nintendo released 3DS without so many good games they'd be asking to fail.

i'll believe the launch title thing when it happens. Nintendo has a history of not launching what they say they will. The original DS was probably the worst, as there were like 10 games for the first 6 months.

It's generally because of how the PSP handles dithering and alpha-blending. It uses 16-bit color after-effects, so they're going to have quite a bit of dots. Think of how Windows 98/95 looks when you switch it to 8 or 16 bit color.

I hope it has more online support than the DSI.......... they really need to get the VC on it......

"Needed 3D crap"?

Graphics are great for a handheld, and 3D isn't mandatory...you should probably research a little before you start making flimsy claims...

Former or latter? I know they sell HDTVs in Wal-Mart with SD footage running on them. It's really annoying and makes it hard to determine which one is better.

Yeah Reggie said in an interview it costs a lot more to make than a DSi, it might be $300. I mean the DS has ancient processors in there, really simple silicon, old low-resolution LCD screens. And we don't know the specs for the 3DS, but it probably has a significant amount of flash memory, a lot more processing power, plus the cost of the 3D screen which is brand-new tech. Yeah it might be $300.

Please tell me you can turn the 3d off. I might have to eat my words after a hands on; but I don't want to play games in 3d all the time! I don't even like my movies in 3d. This hardware is a great step in the right direction for hardcore gamers and nintendo play friendly again. But please give me an option with this 3d stuff.

Yup. There's a slider that adjusts the 3D setting. Although since it's without glasses, it seems like it'll be a lot less annoying to deal with.

The slider on the right of the top screen adjusts the 3D intensity so you can turn it off.
Given the 3DS includes an accelerometer there's going to be games that ask you to turn off the 3D since you can't get the 3D affect while tilting the 3DS around.

Thats because Nintendo had such a short timeframe between unveiling of the DS and launch, so any developers that got dev kits after e3 2004 didnt have enough time to make a launch title
