I just finished the first PixelJunk Shooter yesterday, and I loved it. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
Though, any news on the music? I hope it's from the same guys as the first one, because the music was amazing, and fits the game very well.

@ShadowModder

I read that High Frequency Bandwidth, aka HFB are doing the music again.

Why there's no online co-op play in the first game? WHY Q GAMES? WHY?!

PSN is FRIGGING FREE! You guys should put Online play in everything! WTH, even TRINE does not have it!! WTF is wrong with you developer guys?!

I know is more development time and money, but i'm sure more people will buy it to play with friends, just look at fat princess for godsake!

I'm still incredibly impressed by their texture work: how do they get it so dynamic and cel-shaded? I guess humble lil' ol' me ain't supposed to know.

If you didn't like the first PixelJunk Shooter you should be lobotomised.

Y'know, even if the first one was 3-5 hours, as the article mentioned, it was a damn good 3-5 hours. I, myself, got waaay more out of it as I went for 100% of the trophies, but also just improving my best scores to work my way up the leaderboards... or simply out-do my friends' scores, heh.

Either way, length shouldn't determine how great a title is... PJS2 could be half as long as its predecessor, but if its as good, I'll be a happy camper.

The worst thing about PixelJunk Shooter was not necessarily the length -- it was that it kept on introducing new concepts and never seemed to fully explore them. Almost like the world's best tutorial.

While 1 felt like it ended when it was just getting started, 2 will have already laid that foundation and can hopefully give us something more challenging and wild.

@PersonOfSorts
Yeah as much fun as I had with one I just felt it ended so abrubtly just as things were getting going.
I hope they raise the difficulty level this time around or at least add a hard mode to it. I didn't really have a hard time at any point during the game.
And although this comment might indicate otherwise I did infact love the first game lol

My main complaint with the first one was the length. PixelJunk Eden (plus the Encore DLC) took up about 8 months to get 100% on, and PixelJunk Monsters (plus the Encore DLC) took another 4. Shooter took us 2 weeks.

My second complaint with all PixelJunk games is that while the music is always AMAZING, it's also always very low quality. I expect this from WiiWare and XBLA games, but the PS3 is capable of 24-bit HD audio. Games like Blast Factor, Critter Crunch, and Braid all use this to their advantage. At the least, they should be including 320kbit/sec AAC tracks of the music.

The first game, although a little bit frustrating, was fun. Not sure if i would've called this Pixel Junk Shooter 2 because it looks like more of an expansion pack. But the gameplay looks tight so I won't complain!
