@devin 42 "Wolpaw said the team originally scripted some of her dialogue to be addressed to two women – who she assumed had image issues – so now it sounds like GLaDOS is actually talking to robots with a weight complex."

I cannot wait.

I can't wait.

I'm hoping to get a new PC to play it by then, but if not, I'll settle for it on my PS3

Ugh, now that I know that co-op is a keeper, I'm even more conflicted. Should I get this on Mac or Xbox? With Xbox, I could play with my real life friends, but the Mac/PC version has free updates. It's so confusing!

This is the only reason I would ever consider getting a move controller, because this is the only game that, to me, seems to fit motion controls. It seems like it would be a blast :)

@Blkant I'm 51% percent sure i'm getting Move, if Portal would have it, that would take it to..... 99% I think

I was very later to the Portal party (Only got it recently when it was free on steam), but since then I have played through it five times and am really excited about the sequel. Need to invest in a mouse for my laptop before then though, using the trackpad was not easy

You used a trackpad throughout the whole game?? You deserve an achievement for that, man.

I used to play Unreal Tournament 2003 with a trackpad before I finally got a decent gaming rig. It wasn't pretty, but it was doable.

Having said that, I definitely wouldn't want to do that again, or try Portal with one.

I used a track pad with the free one too, it only really bothered me when doing the timed bits, otherwise portal is a fairly safe game to play it with.

You say the Portal Fizzler Fields are new, but it sounds like similar force fields in Portal 1, in the middle of some rooms and at the end of every level just before the elevator. In addition to destroying any open portals, it would also destroy any other objects you toss into the field. I remember because I would often delay ending a level until I'd throw every radio and computer keyboard into the fields.

@RogueJedi86

I think this is slightly different, in that it only fizzles one player's portals. I'm also not sure if it destroys objects or not. Honestly can't remember if we had to carry any objects through one.

If this game is difficult to you two, who play video games all the time, and ever since you were very young, then there really is something severely wrong with the game!

@ructus I don't see how you think it was somehow too hard for us – it's challenging and certain challenges require certain tools ... which Valve provides. That's not wrong, is it?

Oh I played the first, it was a fun game, but the new shadow based one doesn't really justify Move, though it does help.

I read that the PS3 version will be on Steamworks. Does this mean that if I buy it for the PS3, that I could also download it onto my computer?

I'd love to play the PS3 with my hubby, but the PC would be better for single player.

Valve reigns as a company who only puts out high-quality games. Take your time, Valve. I will cherish your product like a baby when it reaches me after its long gestation. Goochy-goo, Portal 2.
